I never had even Silver Live on 360, so I ranked up A LOT offline just from building Forge maps. Literally an hour ago I’d finished downloading all the DLC (it’s free so I thought ‘why not???’), and started up Halo 4 for the first time EVER while connected to Xbox Live to check out the DLC armour.
I’ve gone from SR46 to SR1 with everything except the DLC armours/skins locked.
As I don’t have Gold I can’t play online or access Spartan Ops. Is there anyway at all that I can level up and get it all back without Gold???
If I remember correctly, then it is possible to level up without gold only up to SR 50.

Playing campaign, I think.
Even for spartan ops, you need “live gold”.
Why do you not want to buy gold, it is not so expensive?
I remember you can get decent Xp from Custom games, I was doing this with a offline account & I went from Sr1 to Sr 20 in a couple of hours, it will take long TBH

The price, crap internet where I live (middle of the English countryside) and all my real life friends are PlayStation guys.

The same sort of thing happened to me in Reach when I got LIVE. Experience you earn with an offline account will get removed, as there is absolutely no guarantee that you didn’t get it through hacking/modding, and you’ll be reset to SR 1. Now that you have LIVE, though, you can play custom games and forge and get XP, and rank up. You can keep it this time.
Side note: Playing campaign doesn’t get you any XP.

Yeah you will lose it. You only lvl up faster offline cause you aren’t connected to the internet, once you connect to live you only get like 50 xp per custom game.

You’re thinking of Reach. Now that I have a LIVE account, I get pitiful credits in Reach from Custom Games. In 4, however, I still get quite a bit of experience.

Really I used to do Halo 4 customs quite a lot back in the day (looking forward to doing them again soon) and the most XP I’d get would be150.
To be honest, Forge will get you the least XP/hour of anything in Halo 4. At most, you’ll get 400 XP/hour.
There are codes that you can search for on the internet that you can copy down and enter in the classified section of the waypoint app. From SR 1, you should be able to get to SR 34 or so, just from the codes that don’t have any requirements. If you have played Spartan assault for 360 or Xbox One, and have the DLC armor, you’ll get 2 more armor skins, another weapon skin, and a stance. Even if you don’t have the DLC, you’ll get 50k XP and an emblem for your trouble.
From all the codes, there’s about 460,000 XP, but at least 3 of them have really tough requirements.
If you play Customs, you should get 500-1000 XP per game no problem. If you have a couple buddies and play slayer to 25 kills, everyone should be guaranteed more than 500 XP/game.
