How do you know the "Halo" feel is gone from halo 4

Please someone explain this “Halo” feel and how it is gone from Halo 4 i don’t get it, because the game play i saw and the information we got it looks and sounds like Halo with new features and I’m sure i will enjoy it.

I could be wrong but looking and hearing is not the same as feeling…

You are so smart +1 now answer my question.

Why would I bother?

Your question is basically why do you think it wont feel like halo masterchief is the same color?

No my question is legit no sarcasm at all, i want people to explain the Halo feel to me and how it’s gone from Halo 4 I’ve been playing since Halo 3 so maybe that’s why i don’t understand the “Feel”

If you dont understand the halo feel why do you expect to experience its loss?

Unlocking gameplay elements through a progression system. That is something I HATE about shooters, and it is why I never prestige in CoD.

Choosing your weapons for a loadout isn’t something I am too concerned about, however choosing between abilities that are fundamentally different is not Halo, grenades might be iffy(I don’t want to have to worry about suicide sticks all game, at least in H3 I know if everyone spawns with sticky’s or not).

Sprinting completely changes how Halo feels, and quite frankly doesn’t work with Halo’s kill times.

Those are the big ones, but mainly Halo is moving away from a simple arena shooter with simple mechanics.

If you ask me, its too soon to say if halo 4 has it or not. Once we all play it, then we can judge and make our opinions. The halo feel was lacking in reach and people are just assuming since halo 4 will use some halo reach concepts then it too wont have the halo feel. but they are judging too soon

Thanks for the answer i get it now.

Perfect example of useless complexity; Take a look at the new sniper “zoomed in mode” in the video on the bulletin.

Now take a look at the Halo 1/2/3 snipers zoomed in mode and look at the beautiful simplicity. You might not think that matters at all, but why do players use the red dot in CoD? It is the same thing for that scope, all that extra visual crap is just going to get in the way of me putting that little circle on my opponents head.

Halo feel gone.

In Halo there is a chance to beat your competitor no matter what the odds are , thats what separates it from any other FPS

If that was gone then HALO is no more

I guess the ‘feel’ is different for each person.

To me Halo 1,2,3,odst had some pretty big differences but really felt like they belonged together. Reach changed that, but still had a feeling of those that came before to some degree. Halo 4, from what i have read and seen looks like Reach 2 instead of that ‘classic’ vibe from the previous 4 games. This bums some people out.

I want to play Halo 4 before making my mind up and unfortunately also before buying it. Its a shame but so far nothing except some of the music has made me say ‘cool, that is awesome’ everything has made me think ‘i’m worried about that’ or ‘that sounds odd/silly’

In the original trilogy, the formula was two men enter, the better man leaves.

In Reach, the formula was two men enter, the lesser man sprints away, or uses X armour ability to gain an advantage, such as jetpacking upwards into an area that they should have had to push to, or armour lock and wait for their team mates to arrive.

In Halo 4, it’s looking up to be a formula of two men enter, the guy who has the best armour unlocks leaves, or is out skilled and once again sprints away or uses X armour ability to gain an advantage.

You can claim that because it’s still Spartans and alien weaponry that it’s still a Halo game, and it is. But it won’t play like one, at least the multiplayer won’t, or at least one we know. Instead of Combat Evolved, it’s going to be Combat Revolutionized, which are different in the fact that Halo 4 is in no way a natural progression from the original trilogy, as if you look at the changes to the game from 1-3, the core game play was still there, and as it has been stated by 343i in interviews, the core is indeed changing in Halo 4, whether you want to argue game play mechanics or not.

It doesn’t like like Halo 4, it looks like Reach 2, and reach didn’t feel like Halo, nor did it play like it. It’s hard to imagine a game with the same exact types of features and mechanics will be very different. There is also a lot of negativity because Reach has turned off so many players and left a bad taste in the mouths of many players as well.

Perhaps it is possible to implement them well, but based on recent history, I’m VERY inclined to be skeptical and underwhelmed.
