I am getting super salty about killing these stupid bosses. I can put multiple rockets into them or sit in a ghost and shoot for an hour but as soon as it dies I get no credit at all. It is really started to agitate me. How do you get credit for it? Should I just wait for it to almost die and put two rounds of AR shots into it?
You just have to get the shot that kills him. I think they should a point split system that divides the points between the players that fight the boss and if its two teams the team that does the most damage should get a bonus.
But there are times when multiple teammates get credit for one boss. How does that work?

I think its timed
If you’ve shot the boss in the last 3-5 seconds it counts as a kill for you if your team got the last hit
The link I posted is a video showing me hit rockets the entire time with no kill given at the end. I think the game is just broken.

You died before it counted
It’s based on “luck” whether you get the kill or not (if you’re after the Achievement).
It really agitates me. Too many times I know I killed Warden Eternal for the game to take a -Yoink!- on my team and claim the enemy team took him down. I think the points should be split on the damage done. It’s too unpredictable who/which time gets the kill. How many Warzone matches had I lost because the enemy apparently killed that Legendary and got the needed 150 points to win?
They need to do something about it, its really turning me off of the gamemode. How players can just hide, pop off the last few shots and get full credit…
I can see where you guys are coming from, but I can’t agree.
I’ve killed Warden twice, and a bunch of other legendary bosses once or twice, and it does come down to a mix of timing, firepower, and accuracy. I think the bosses are an excellent addition since they are meant to be there as something of a game changer.
You and your team can really strategize with them as well. Whilst some of your team focus on the boss some others can run defense to prevent any enemy Spartans swooping in and taking the kill. I’ve played when I’m the first one to come across the boss, and take it down on my own or with other players, and I’ve had times when I’ve come to help my team and found the opposing team trying to take the kill too, so naturally I set up defense for my own team. It’s a fantastic structure that can be played any number of ways, in my opinion.
I’m not against bosses. I love the Warzone gametype overall. I just wish assists or borderline kills on legendary bosses would count towards the commendation or at least give more req points.

I agree you can’t just focus on the boss, I have come across teams that I can pick off then take the boss down after they do all the work, so I think your team just needs a better strategy

What he said!
On one hand for a losing team the boss can be a great way to come back to par, but on the other hand for some clever strategy you can use the bosses to wipe out the enemy team in waves and then take that final swoop.
I have been on both ends of that, as the loser it annoyed me, but as the winner I loved it, and from both perspectives I love the new tactics and diversity it brings to a multiplayer game type.
It should be based on the team damage
Perhaps there could be a boss assist medal for those who helped but didn’t get the kill.
Just be a scum bag like me and sit at a distance with a saw or binary and lay into it at low health almost a guaranteed steal, boss kill counts for last shot connected at death so fast fire rate or prolonged rate of fire is an easy steal. Halo 5 rewards campers always remember that!
By shooting them…A LOT!
look its easy wait for an enemy or even better a team mate to grind them down, kill your team mate and or enemy and then cherry pick the legendary or normal boss. Then steal your team mates weapon if it is better. Then you can get the achillies armour too, wow cool right, not and please dont do any of the above. It takes work and some luck cuz the server seems to get it wrong sometimes. Oh killing the enemy is fine, but I personally dont cherry pick ,feels wrong friend or foe,;~}
What I like to do is defend my teammates attacking the boss and/or I distract the opposing team who are also attacking the boss. Then once the boss’s health dips around/below 10%, I focus my attention on the boss.
Honestly I have had so much fun with this strategy. You can rack up a bunch of free kills, get free REQs from the other team, and sometimes help ur team ‘stockpile’ power weapons/vehicles since you help keep them alive/from being hijacked.
Even if I or my team don’t get the boss kill, I still have a good time. I used to just go straight for the boss and get so frustrated when we didn’t get it, but I was going about it all wrong.
