There’s no justifiable reason for this…
No this isn’t a “Boo-Hoo, I’ve been banned Thread”, it’s a “Boo-Hoo, This Actually bloody exists Thread”. Seriously, in Reach it was unpopular enough, but it was justifiable seeing as there was no way to re-populate the matches where people leave, and the ban was reasonably short enough so that it promoted you to not quit rather than just quit altogether…
But now, we have AN HOUR LONG BAN for quitting in a game, that already has a feature in place to take care of people quitting in the form of Join-in-Progress. So now in a game that’s constantly throwing more and more choice at the player, you’re potentially bastardized for choosing to leave a game that you could have been thrown in mid-way with a certain defeat…
I know it’s been discussed already at this point, but it seems like with the Title Update, this ban has a smaller requirement to trigger…
I mean am I the only one that sees this and seriously questions what 343 are doing with the Multiplayer? The amount of sodding contradictions present right now are horrible, which is a damn shame considering how much I bloody enjoy Spartan Ops…
I loved the quit ban in Reach, you know what I didn’t love? Quitters. -_-
I have never been banned for quitting.
Simple solution - Don’t quit.
The real question is, how do you justify quitting 11 out of 16 matches - including 7 in a row?
> The real question is, how do you justify quitting 11 out of 16 matches - including 7 in a row?
Would it be that much of a shock if I were to say I may have been ejected from those matches in another particular way…and no I’m not playing the “Dial-Up” card on this one…
Too bad for quitters like you. An hour doesn’t sound that bad when you consider how mean quitting a game is.

I agree with OP,this ban is just limited. And i hate in exchange the people who say ‘‘You should NEVER quit a match’’
So let me get this straigh,i get back home after a HORRIBLE day,get into Halo 4 to try and relax but end up in a match where i get even more stressed and destroyed, yet i should still stay in the match?Hahahahaha,i payied money just like you,so i’ll just do whatever i want.If i ever get the ban quit,i’ll just stop playing Halo forever, atleast they won’t be getting another 60€ from me

1 or 2 matches I can understand, but 11 DNF’s in 16 matches is too many to explain away.

Also, there is no conventional way to explain quitting this much; you deserve a ban of some sort. What would this particular way be? It would either have to be quitting, lag, or boot. There is no other way to quit, well unless your dog turns your Xbox off (true story)
> I loved the quit ban in Reach, you know what I didn’t love? Quitters. -_-
That’s nice and inspirational but the system encourages quitting and punishes those who want to join games because they get put into games which are a lost cause.
>
Also too bad for you. You know what happens when I am getting beat in a game of Halo? I get over it, play another game and don’t get butthurt.
The vat majority (90% or so) of games i’ve JIP’d have been with just a kill or two in the whole match.
> Also too bad for you. You know what happens when I am getting beat in a game of Halo? I get over it, play another game and don’t get butthurt.
When i get beat at a halo game,i just leave it.Then i proceed either to:
A)Try another gamemode,or go into some SP/SOps
B)Try anther
Either way, doing this makes people like you be like ‘‘Oh you quitted, you’re such a quitter’’

Not all of these games are a lost cause, most games I have joined and seen others join the jip team won. Of course there are times when it is a complete lost cause, but really that is going to come with quitters.

I fear my terrible habits and hints weren’t obvious enough…
I may have meant I was being a horrible person and getting booted repeatedly for one reason or another…
I’ll be honest, the argument here isn’t that people that Quit or get Booted this much don’t deserve it, it’s just the blatant contradiction this presents. If they wanted to throw in a ban for being consistently booted, even though it’d Crucify me, I’d be all for it and it’d be 100% justifiable. But having both measures in place to deal with people quitting is just plain silly in my opinion…

When you leave that game, you quit. I am justified in calling you a quitter and a loser. You deserve a ban even if you think quitting to join another playlist isn’t quitting.
Edit: Also, I was not talking down on you for being beat at Halo, I was talking down on you for trying to say it is alright to quit a game in progress.

I sincerely miss the times where I had this much honour in gaming…
And I’m serious, I’m not trying to be stupid about that one, I genuinely miss the days where I wasn’t a massive tool in most games, but after a whole hell load of annoying implementations in Halo 4, it got crossed off the list of games to play honorably for me unfortunately…

Let me get this straight. It’s okay to stay even if you’re having the most horrible day of your life?Oh my,i wish we’d meet online,i’d t-bag you till you rage quit
How would you like it,mantis style or spartan style?

So correct me if I’m wrong, but you are saying that 343i should ban people for being booted a horrendous amount of times, but forget about it when people quit a whole bunch? Ok, now I happen to not like you even more. How do you get booted a lot? If you get booted a lot and quitting results in such booting, you deserve the full force of the ban hammer. Being booted in combination with quitting a horrendous amount of times deserves a harsher sentence.

Lol I don’t rage quit, I’ve beaten whole teams before. Also, I have stayed in a game by myself in Halo 3 on standoff; you can’t tell me that you have been thorough a hell worse than being on a team of yourself on standoff against rockets splaser and a warthog.
