Check out the list of Spartan Companies here or check out the Recruiting / Spartan Companies forums and see if you find a company you might like to join. If you go to a company profile, there should be a link / button to request to join. if you decide to post in the forums, someone might send you an invite. That will go to your Private Message inbox - you can accept / decline requests from there
That’s what I guessed but there isn’t a button for it and INBOX isn’t in my drop-down menu.

Seen this happening to quite a few folk now. Are you able to sign out and back in again and see that that helps? might also be worth either clearing your cache or trying another browser
None of that worked, mmm. Do I have to be a higher rank or is it open to everybody?
Inbox should be available for everyone, no matter your post count. It seems that there are still a few issues with the site at the moment since they released Spartan Companies, I’m guessing the dev team are aware and are working on them. There’s another big update due out on Monday, hopefully that resolves it

Have you ever had parental restrictions or a child account? That seems to screw it up.

Yeah, I still have a childs account but Ive removed all the parental restrictions. Ill have another look.

Damn same problem here. You may not have any restrictions but it’s still set as a child account. As far as I know the only way to get rid of this is to wait until you’re 18 or see what they do about the issue in waypoint when the update comes out this Monday (26th)

That seems to be the general consensus of that the issue is. Child Xbox Live accounts won’t be able to access the inbox features of Halo Waypoint, assuming there’s some legal issues that prevent those accounts from doing so.
