Just curious what you guys think.
I’m not getting to play for about another two hours, so I’ve just been perusing here and a little bit of UberNick’s stream.
It looks like the content is solid, but there are some performance issues

So far everything seems good… Odd balls being the last weapon you get on Escalation is a bit annoying though lol.
I cant get into w BTB game. I also feel like the aiming feels different, i play like once a few a week so I wonder why my aiming is so off the mark…
I’d give it a while before I’d pass judgement but my initial response from messing with it earlier is that the game was running slow/ laggy but the new maps are cool, the bandit doesn’t really do anything for me, the cores and cosmetics are nice, I like the smoke screen or whatever it called. Overall my first thought are very positive except the game itself doesn’t seem to be running smooth or well so yeah performance issues
Did any of your setting get reset? Some of mine did. Frame rate was one of them which made the game feel less smooth and harder to aim.
Like:
- Cliffhanger seems fun but a bit hectic due to its longer sightlines. I’m out of my element a bit though in 4v4
and I only got a few normal gamemodes matches on the map, so that could exacerbate things. Visually it is
probably the prettiest map we’ve gotten so far in Infinite. - The Mirage core looks great, and I love a lot of its chest, wrist, and waist attachments. That said I don’t like
any of the helmets beyond the default and the other fishbowls (even then default wins by a country mile), but
hey that’s what SPI is all about anyways. - Honestly haven’t really noticed the commando change that much, which is good. I did feel it was a bit too
strong after the buff. - Kinda cheating since I haven’t played it in matchmaking yet, but Oasis’ layout feels to be the most vehicle friendly of the BTB maps.
Meh:
- Escalation slayer is fun but I feel the tiers could use some shuffling, and the oddball would probably feel better if it was an instant kill. As is one team seems like they can get a big lead, but will then get ground down at the oddball stage until the other team catches up since they can almost never finish a kill.
The bad
- Chasm sucks big weewee
- Menu transitions are super choppy now, relatively minor but it is annoying
They changed almost all of the alternative pallets for nameplates from defaults thru season 2 and removed most of the already present (since launch) alternative pallets for anything prior to season 3. All my stuff matched before this update. From weapons to the core to the nameplates and now none of does. And i use a purchased nameplate that cant match anything anymore.
I love the fact that I underperform in deaths. That’s hilarious. Apparently I need to die more

I hear you. It’s a bit of a rough start for season 3
Maps seem good. The one 4 vs 4 seems a little big though… 5 vs 5 or 6 vs 6 seems more fitting IMO.
I love the variety in the BTB map though, really fun.
Interestingly enough, I feel that the one map that looks like it were ripped out of Campaing is probably my least favorite. I dunno, but I just don’t feel it. I kind of wish those long stretches maybe had some cover you could use outside of the doors perhaps?
Shroud is good for just what I was expecting… Shooting at at enemies and crippling their view. The balls too small to really hide in and grenade spam will take place. The big sphere also stands out like a sour thumb, and draws attention to it you might not have been wanting.
Bandit rifle is good, I could use some more practice but I like it. Maybe a BTB spawn weapon instead of the pistol perhaps?
New Armors are all right, still not a big fan of the one coating that were don’t have many unlocks too. Mirrage is nice though, but could use some more helmet variety… My current set up I feel like I’m trying to be Daft Punk lol.

I would prefer it be Red and Purple… But I can work with this at least.
Only 5 matches for ranked play is kinda nice vs 10 for placement. No sure how accurate the that will be but we’ll see
Good that they’ve fixed the texture bugs in customs, now the forge maps look as the authors intended, this is great.
A bunch of bugs I’ve noticed:
- Customs Browser doesn’t show the name of the mode the lobby is playing
- Some items on my forge maps moved randomly
- Stuttering and weird performance, this is really bad right now, the game doesn’t feel smooth
I have noticed this too but only on armour customisation transitions.
The game I played was a lot of fun.
There were shroud screens going up everywhere.
Got very tense.
For returning players it shouldn’t be a huge problem.
You are seeding placement with your current MMR.
It won’t be as good for brand new players (maybe they could make them have 10 placement games).
And post placement is going to be weird anyway. Diamond lobbies are going to be full of Onyx players.
Got placed gold 2 which I’m truly a mid gold level player in skill so that’s pretty dang accurate. Still working on getting better haha.
Your true skill will be 2 to 4 tiers higher… depending on the width of you MMR curve.

That’s the plan! i just tend to die more than I should. Actually went 11-1 today for a 92% win rate. I should prob go buy a lottery ticket cause it’s usually the opposite.
