Yep, all the maps we are getting in this upcoming update aren’t maps that 343i made in shop, but had cartographers (well known forgers within the community) use their forge system, and recreate spin offs of famous maps. I’m on the fence about it:
On one hand, some of the forgers I have heard of I have great faith in… but at the same time, I feel like 343i is giving less love to maps that aren’t 4v4… You can make a forge map as pretty as you want, I can still say it’s forged.
I don’t want Forge maps. Period. This includes almost every on-disc map that looks like it was made in Forge as well.
I don’t care if the maps are free. I have no problem with paying for DLC maps, if they’re not Forge maps…
I’m pretty disappointed, but can deal.
That urban map looks really cool, at least.
I’m not too disappointed because we’re only two weeks into launch (and I believe BTB is launching this week). So long as we get some fresh, non-forge maps in the future I’ll be fine.
The same way that I feel about Orion and Pegasus as featured maps day one. That just screams desperation to me. There had better be some REALLY good DLC maps in the future, nothing forged.

Sucks graphically, but I feel the cartographers, being fellow players, have a better understanding of what the community wants in these maps ga me play wise.
I don’t like it, but I’ll deal. It’s no big deal, I just expected real maps. I know they knew we didn’t want Forge maps is the part that kills me.
I’m fine with it because I like the people who made them.
I was thinking warzone looks like it could be large forge maps with maps made in them
In all honesty, I’d prefer play on maps that I loved, rather than whatever 343 would make.

I want to see some out side of the box playlist like racing, stunting, what ever people can think and have a mad social playlist
People need to stop focusing so much on just how good a map looks. These top forgers know how to design great map layouts that will be balanced and fun to play. I would much rather play on a map that plays awesome and is fun than a map that pays crappy but looks good.
I forge and do forge customs with some of the top forgers and i dont understand why people get so hurt over forged maps. They can add so many new maps for you to play because of forge and this is the best forge yet. Also they WILL make btb maps for dlc that are dev built and not forge. People just need to chill.
Honestly i would take btb forge maps over just playing the same 3 warzone maps over and over again.

Lol Social playlists in Halo 5. I’ll believe it when I see it.
I love that they are Forged, it means us Forgers can make some REALLY AWESOME maps for all you guys 
I just hope these don’t count as our free dlc maps. I doubt they will but we as consumers just don’t know right now.

I’m with u
a tool that’s meant for the community to use not the makers of the game. Something about that is just lazy but what the @%k the maps are free so of course they would use forge for it. So stupid of me.
Saddened, but I think 343 will bring in some new actual maps later
