Is it just me or does TTK in this game feel way too fast? Particularly the AR, just feels like it lasers people down so fast… and the DMR feels like a power weapon. Doesn’t really feel like Halo to me.
It’s terrible, the ttk is the main thing that is making this feel less like a Halo game for me. They really need to buff up the shields or chill out with some of the gun damage, the AR and sidekick especially.

Yes!
I don’t know about you, but probably only 1 out of 20 of my kills are reversals. Once someone fires on you, you’re screwed. No time to fight back if you didn’t open fire on them at the same time.
So yes, I agree. TTK is too fast. Especially on the -Yoinking!- Sidekick.
AR is definitely a bit to powerful and reversals in halo, at least in my opinion have always been hard. It usually requires a well placed grenade. The ttk is definitely fast but I’m not sure how I feel about it just yet.
TTK I terrible for every weapons you can stand more than one encounter its awful and not even fun. They have to increase the TTK or imo reduce the shield recharge time
the AR TTK seems a bit overtuned from what i’ve seen compared to previous halo games. Also anyone got one of them buddy codes~~~ <3
The speed is a bit high but the main issue is consistency. Infinite’s bloom is causing the same exact issues that Reach had. You can just spam away and get lucky way too often. They should remove bloom and lower the max rate of fire of all weapons affected by the change. Bloom just doesn’t seem to be a good mechanic in a game that doesn’t allow for precise aim to matter at all times.

Yes, and by that I meant like… average TTK, not peak TTK.
The peak TTK and the average TTK can be close, which means it’s really easy to kill people fast is the peak TTK is low, and the average TTK is close to it. The peak TTK needs a tiny raise, and the average TTK needs a significant decrease.
It feels a little weird sometimes. I would fix its consistency. It’s kinda annoying landing a whole magazine in the enemy and not getting the kill, when other times you can get a kill with way less shots. This is probably because of bloom. But most of the time, I’ve had problems with the melee. It gets me frustrated landing some shots on the enemy, melee them and not getting a kill, only for them to do the same thing to me and end up dead.

One bullet, or even where that one bullet hits, can mean the difference of shield being up or not. If they have any shield left the melee just takes the shield away. It can be frustrating, but that at least partially makes sense

Yeah, I agree with you. However, during the flight I’ve landed a lot of melee hits that don’t deal any damage, so that kinda adds to the frustration haha :b
Overall, I’m not a fan of the TTK and how the weapons feel. I’ve been killed by the pistol no matter what weapon I have. The commando, for example, sounds and looks like it should hit a lot harder. The battle rifle looks like it’s hitting shots that it either isn’t, or the shots are doing different amounts of damage. Can’t count how many times I’ve watched the shields get hit by any weapon, but either I’m not breaking them or the health bar is bigger than I thought. Guess I just die to stuff faster than I get a chance to really find out how many shots I can take lol
The TTK is average for a Halo game.
I would also say the AR needs a slight nerf but that doesn’t correlate to the games overall ttk when compared to other halos.
The reversals are harder because the AR is too easy to use. It’s ease of use makes its potentional ttk occur more often. Its ease of use also keeps the initial attacker from making a mistake that would allow a reversal.
AR, Sidekick and Commando shreds people in like 1 second. The balancing really needs to be looked at

It’s not just you. I’ve played enough games now where I agree that it’s an issue. I’d be interested to know if this is partly because of overlap with the aiming issue. I’ve played every single Halo game, and while I was never great, I was able to hold my own. It’s incredibly hard to aim with the controller in this game and I feel like I’m getting outgunned by mouse aiming. It’s like my opponents are not missing and their TTK is approaching or at the minimum, and I’m missing shots and my TTK is obviously greater.
I used to be able to “put the moves” on opponents like others here recall. Turning and dumping a grenade on a player attacking from behind was one of my favorite moves. I can’t seem to pull it off in Infinite.
I realize that beta players are a tough crowd and trying to gauge how much I’m going to enjoy the final game is difficult when I’m matched against some of the best players out there, but I feel like too many things are off here. Wonky aim, very little chance of counter-play when the opponent shoots first, run n’ gun CoD style maps, useless radar, laggy games… there’s a lot to not like here, and it’s starting to really add up for me.
I already digressed from the original topic so I guess I’ll go ahead and mention how my two boys were really put off by the difficulty of the matches. It’s hard to explain things to kids. I feel like 343 made a mistake in not having some kind of basic mmr system in this beta.
This is shaping up to be a very sweaty, hard to play game. I’m having a hard time picturing my kids wanting to play this long enough to spend my money in the cash shop. I’m also having a hard time seeing the game change much before launch.
There are certain weapons that will delete players in record time.
I’ve summed up how I feel about the TTK in the following topic

I’m worried its not just the sweaty flight crowd. It seems so far Infinite is using something similar to CoD’s god awful SBMM system that made me and many others quit CoD. I pray its just the sweaty flight crowd though.

i’m pretty sure that they’re not using any match making system at all, which is fine for an invite only beta. But they’re letting anybody with an Xbox play now. i feel like the real purpose of any beta that’s open is to sell the game. I’m not sure that letting a bunch of pros murder these Xbox kids is good salesmanship.

I only seem to shred them with the commando if they’re 5 feet away and not moving much lol. They usually kill me with the sidekick before I kill them
