Honestly I love them all. Then again I have a very broad taste for music. I love classical music but I also love electronica and things similar. Neil Davidge’s take on Halo suits me with an excellent balance. I’ll be getting the two disc edition of the soundtrack. I’ll miss Marty, but I have every other soundtrack saved to my Xbox’s HDD so if I want to play Halo 4 with the classic scores I can do that.
How do you guys feel?
Some of them are alright. But it’s not anything I’ll look back at like I did Halo 1-3’s OST.
Maybe even ODST.
Quite excited for Apocalyptica. I’m hoping they had a larger part in the soundtrack, which would be awesome.
I really like revival. It sounds amazing! You follow me?
I’ve listened to To Galaxy over 50 times today if thats what your asking.

Yes its nailed the classic Halo feel. It’s currently my favorite.

I got the sound cloud page bookmarked. I get on my laptop and just play the music. Listening to Awakening in my second tab right now.

I can see what you mean but I’m really looking forward to hearing and seeing how they tie into gameplay. Thats what makes the music memorable for me.

I’m not really a huge fan of “to galaxy” I keen, I haven’t really put much time into it. You follow me?

When listening to “To Galaxy” Imagine the Chief climbing over the wreckage of the Forward Unto Dawn and looking up into the sky of Requim with the light glinting off of his armor. You’ll feel it then. You follow me?
I feel like its too foreign for Halo, only one of the remix tracks sounded somewhat like Halo to me.
Some of them are really good, a few surprised me for being in the list, they didn’t seem like things Halo would have. The good ones were really good though. The original style will always be the best though.
To Galaxy is my favorite so far.

Its a new direction so its understandable its gonna seem out of place at first. But Neil has some real potential in the franchise IMO. I really like the music as a stand alone so far but I need to hear it in game in the middle of the action to make my final decision.

I feel there’s still a good amount of the classic feel there. You just gotta stop and absorb it all. It doesn’t exactly feel like Halo Because you have the electronic set of sound mixed in but I really feel that the new complements the old in a certian way.

While i will always be fond of Marty’s scores for Halo (especially ODST), i am going to have to take off the rose tinted glasses and give the new music direction a shot.
On point: I absolutely loved To Galaxy (could be the main theme of Halo 4 IMO) and it’s definitely resonating with me. I can imagine this playing while showing off all the important events of the Halo series (like flashbacks all the way from when Chief was being kid, discovering Alpha Halo, fighting the Flood etc.)
Revival: Everyone is familiar with this one. Pretty damn chilling and dark (with epic breakdown at 1:18) and while it was no Halo monk chant, it was still pretty good.
Awakening: Driving the Warthog on this new, mysterious world called Requiem in the darkest of nights. Rushing past Covenant (or running them over) while this plays was would be cool. Not my favorite of the sample themes but still good.
Ascendancy: It sounds like a battle theme. Sounds pretty epic to my ears, i can imagine the Chief moving forward against the Promethean opposition to some unknown destination (desperately so).
