How do you feel about the direction halo 4 is taking?

i just wanted to know what you guys think about the decisions 343 is making for halo 4 multiplayer, the evolution its going through and all the new and old aspects of it. basically what do you about the new customizational loadouts, the return of the armor abilities, the new respawn system, etc. stuff we learned from the most recent game-informer magazine.

at this point i stand in a neutral position because i want to see what happens. but i admit im slightly skeptical about the direction towards a non classical arena shooter. i feel like will be a brilliant stand alone game. but when you compare it to previous halos it has changed drastically. is this change for better or worse? what do you guys think.

Worried, I really need to see some gameplay, because on the multiplayer side, it really sounds a bit effed up.

Smells like CoD.

Looks awesome! I mean AAs, vision to see through walls, how can i get any better?!

Devistated.

i wont be able to really tell till we get more gameplay and info

Well to be honest so far it sounds cool. Unlike some of the halo fans I’m already used to halo having mid-game joining. Although I’m interested to see how it will work out for MM.

I am intrigued. Some things excite me, others frighten me but I am generally craving this game.

I feel good about it.

From what I have seen and read, I think it is a turn for the better. I take a position that many on this site do not, I like change.

While H3 was good and Reach was taking a step back, the direction that 343 is heading looks very good.

Graphics
These are looking sharp and crisp and taking a dark turn. Best looking Halo to date.

Music
Loving what I have heard, very dark and threatening with danger. Good tones and use of electronic sampling.

Spartan Ops
Great and innovative move by 343. I was drawn to the Halo story and this takes it one step further. A lot of replay value for this.

Infinity
This opens up a whole realm of possibilities. I like what I have seen and am not a reactionary to the changes.

Overall 10

The artistic direction, meaning all of the art, including music, story and aesthetics, seems fantastic to me. Spartan Ops sounds potentially revolutionary.

It remains to be seen how gameplay will be mixed up. I’m sceptical about multiplayer right now, but given the overwhelming, nauseatingly volatile reaction from much of the community, I’m willing to give 343 the benefit of the doubt.

For now.

yah i know how you feel. games these days are obsessed with obtaining the cod ideal. i just wish they would stop trying so hard and just be good old awesome halo.

Campaign and audio seems amazing.

Multiplayer…we’ll see.

Was skeptical, now I absolutely love it.

Skeptical, but willing to give it a shot.

Well, at first I was somewhat skeptical about some of the new features. I then thought about them for a while while reading 343’s clarifications, and I realized, these features would work really well! The new weapon drop system encourages map control and teamwork, instant respawn has it’s ups and downs, but it’s only in a few gametypes, not really sure about Forerunner Vision, but sounds interesting. The new music and the graphics are amazing!

I think that this has been a long time coming. Halo has really needed to evolve beyond a point that makes it stand alone on its own feet without taking much from the previous titles besides the things that went bad and what worked.
The direction they are heading towards will bring many new players to the Halo franchise with its fresh new feel and hopefully the most robust population that we have ever seen in a Halo title. 343i working hard on the Campaign, we know nothing besides a few things and nothing about what we will encounter on the forerunner planet, meaning this mystery when we land on the planet will be as original as the feeling we first had on Combat Evolved.

The team developing the Multi-player for the game have really thought out what they want Halo to be known as for the future. A competitive awesome raw skill game, that normal players can play and feel just as powerful and feel as if their own personal skill is increasing.
Frankie stated that 343i learned alot from what went wrong with Reach MM, meaning Halo 4 will be a Monster in it’s Multi-player aspect creating the most addictive matchmaking we have seen since Halo 2.
I am sure the team is thriving off of the Story behind the Multi-player of the Infinity and makes for a much more wholesome experience than we have ever had in a Halo titles Online MM. Halo 4 is headed to success, in it’s fans eyes, and the worlds eyes.
