I’m specifically referring to the act of stealing a teammates assassination, even sometimes going as far as killing both you and the person you were assassinating without them getting a betrayal. I personally think it’s incredibly unsporting and incredibly rude, and anyone that would do that is not someone I would ever want to play with.
I agree its rude, however there have been a couple occasions where I was shooting an enemy, and a teammate came up and tried to take my kill. In those cases, I’ll go for a head shot and keep my kill. Over all though, if someone is assassinating an enemy, I leave them to it. There is not much more gratifying than to hear ASSASSINATION! in that awesome voice!!
It makes me sad that people value personal stats over the teams’ glory. Klingons would not be impressed by this attitude.
They’re A-holes. I allow teammates to do their assassinations. Even if they do it by stealing my kill I’ll let them have it. Especially now that everyone can have different and unique assassinations.

This, I used to run with a group of friends in Slayer Pro in Halo 4. We used to setup assassinations for each other by drawing people’s fire. Someone isn’t stealing your kill because they assassinate someone you’re shooting at, they have no idea if you or the person you were shooting was gonna win, they just saw an opportunity to get an awesome kill and maybe save someone’s life. The amount of times I’ve been saved from a gun fight I was losing cause someone assassinated the other person is enough to where I accept that it isn’t my kill being stolen, but rather my teammate guaranteeing a kill that was at best possibly going to be one I was gonna get.
tldr; just let your teammate have the assassination and watch the awesomeness unfold because your teammate was probably working to set that up.
It depends. If done in the heat of battle it’s no big deal. If they’re doing it on purpose they’re jerks.
If they dont mean to and i can tell that its okay but on purpose they get just bugger off
When they purposely come up and punch the guy who’s back was just snapped in two over me knee then yes they’re a jerk, usually in Warzone I see a guy coming to run up and I’ll say “bup, bup, bup” through my mic and generally they stop XD but seriously gotta love watching someone lift a Spartan up and snap his back in two, always makes me smile when I do it
I always get -Yoinked!- all the time. Even with the choice of my team
Yoinked 19 times in one match…
I sometimes get caught up, and shoot every baddy I see… And then go… Oops, sorry! I don’t intentionally yoink though.

I’m that kind of player that always let my teammates finish their assassination… I instead, protect them not being killed from other enemy while performing their assassination xD
personally idk why they did that. i mean you did the hard work, you should get the assassination. i have done it alot by accident when in the middle of heated action, i see an enemy i shoot. but i feel that person that got the assassination should have got the kill. assassinations arent easy, kill stealling is. the hard work should go to the player that assassinated. its actually why some people in Halo Reach TK’d their partner. its very trolling.

I wish that the assassination counted no matter what once you start the action, though I know many people would have a valid reason as to why that wouldn’t be fair.
If I see someone going for an assassination while we are say…trying to take a base with a bunch of enemies running around, yeah I’m gonna kill that guy getting assassinated and take the kill because it’s faster. And it gets the guy doing the assassination back into the game faster. Sorry but it’s time to fight not style on people haha.
Now if I’m fighting someone, and he gets caught from behind by a teammate and assassinated I let it happen, because it’s very funny to me.
