How do you feel about Halo 4?

I haven’t been apart of the Halo 4 community all that much because frankly I didn’t think it was worth it. So I want to know, how do you really feel about Halo 4?

Personally, I think it is the -Yoink- child of what used to be Halo. I don’t care for the armor abilities, the sprinting, or the ordinance drops. I find the maps to be unbalanced and far to clustered. (Some are alright, but the my general consensus is not good). The power weapons are far to abundant and load outs feel way too unnatural for Halo. The ranking system caters to the non-competitive and does not feel like you earn anything. It also doesn’t give yourself the ability to dissimulate yourself from others who may not be on your skill level. I know these general complaints can’t be changed, but I do hope for some changes.

I would like to see some Halo 2 & 3 remake maps and a new array of playlist, MOST IMPORTANTLY BEING A TEAM DOUBLES AND TEAM SNIPERS. For remake maps, please bring back at least the pit.

I’m not sure what 343 plans to do with Halo, so if some of these changes are forthcoming,I apologize for the lack of knowledge.

Let me know how you feel, because I sure am disappointed.

Fun but not the Halo Bungie gave us.

I love it. Best Campaign in my opinion and second best MP in the series. I love all the Halo’s though.

Halo 4 just doesn’t have that Halo feel. To be honest, we were given a beta anyway so… that’s pretty much what I think of this game.

Halo 4 is weak and sad. There’s zero motivation to push and hold position on any map. Lack of weapons and power weapons on the map take away from what was halo. The maps are uninteresting and boring. The gameplay is clunky like Reach. The lack of ranks make this game a social everyone wins playground. This game tries to hide its lack of quality through its progressive system, commendation progress, and challenges. I’m no longer supporting this franchise.

Needs some tweaking but fun.
And when you’re trying to get competitive… I was playing with Vic DeLeon earlier and this guy joins in. Vic challenged us to see who would get more kills.
I got competitive, I tried to stay friendly. But yeah, I believe I won most kills for most game.
Fun and competitive. I used the storm rifle and he used the DMR.

I like the campaign as well, I find myself replaying it a lot and spartan ops Solo is fun as well.

DMR should be balanced and the boltshot as well I believe but all in due time. I have patience.

I’ve been with Halo for more than a decade now, however with the start of a new trilogy I’m not sure if I can stay a decade more.

I’m sure I’m not alone in saying this, but strangely I found Reach to be more addicting. There was just something about Bungie being at the helm with the Halo franchise that made me proud to be a Halo fanboy… Then Bungie left Halo, got rid of all the stats and fileshare on their website, and gave it to 343i.

Since then I think it’s just began to bore me. Ever so slowly I can feel myself (with each game) losing my fanboyism. It saddens me.

My main problem is that dying means nothing. There is no punishment for death. Just tap x and finish off the one shot opponent from your last engagement. I would mind the game a lot more if there was a respawn delay. But alas, who knows if the multiplayer team, most importantly Kevin Franklin sees this as an issue?

As of now, instant respawn ruins slayer, and absolutely destroys King of The Hill and Oddball.

It’s so hard to be competitive in this game with amount of -Yoink- that goes on. I keep trying to play it in hopes that it will get better, but it doesn’t. It just keeps getting worse. It’s a shame I spent $60 bucks on this game. My days with Halo may be over soon.

Serious question, does 343 respond to community members? Do they really listen to community feedback, because that’s what made Bungie successful (aside from making a game that actually worked).

I think it sucks. The multiplayer is a hybrid of Call of Duty and Battlefield in beta mode. Campaign was good though.

The campaign was terrible.

I did see a mlg custom video with casuals playing. It was pritty good the pods droped AAs like hardlight shield and weapons are set on the map. looked really fun.

Will we see a Team Doubles playlist at any point in this games future?

NEVER… no they probably should have one I would think.

Campaign was meh, multiplayer has a lot of potential but right now is terrible imo.

Do you happen to know why they would exclude such a popular playlist? Seems moronic to me.

I can’t figure this one out, I am betrayed more in Halo 4 than any other Halo game in the past, and friendly fire is turned off in Halo 4 MP

In all honestly, I wish the game just came with the campaign. Reach’s forge and MP were better. I rather play firefight on Reach than Infinity Slayer on Halo 4.

Where’s the classic playlist at launch we were promised?

I don’t like halo 4. It’s not a terrible game, but it’s not a good one either, a hollow shell of the Halo universe with the cream filling removed and replaced with something bland and tasteless.

It reminds you of Halo, but it’s not Halo. Nothing is “improved”, it’s just different, and there’s a great deal less of it too. The Prometheans are terrible enemies, not at all fun to fight. Their weapons are boring and uninteresting, and the game’s campaign FORCES them on you. The music is forgettable at best, you can mute it and not notice a difference. The new design ethic feels like it doesn’t even belong in the same evolutionary tree as Halo, especially the new Spartan IVs and Marine BDUs. The new multiplayer format, why try to be like Call of Duty; Halo was distinct, this is just depressing. Spartan OPs makes me miss Firefight, which I originally didn’t care for in the first place, but at least Firefight mixes it up a bit instead of throwing the same mission and recycled audio back at you. Worst of all the fireshare is STILL broken 2 months after release.

It also doesn’t feel worth the asking price. Content-wise it lines up more with ODST than Reach or even 3.

Again, I won’t say it’s a terrible game, it’s just not a good one, and what irritates me is that this is what we’re getting now instead of real Halo. I liked reach aswell!

It is a fantastic game. Everyone who complains that Halo 4 isn’t exactly like one of the previous games needs to understand a game developer can’t keep releasing titles with the exact same gameplay. We would have stopped playing long ago because the new game is “just another halo”. Game developers have to constanly evolve and right now the rage is similar to what CoD uses. For what it’s worth, Halo 4 has some of the same elements (ordinance drops) but even those elements feel enough like Halo to me.

Just wait till Halo 5. Everyone will rage about it and complain it isn’t like Halo 4. Adapt or continue playing the Halo title you like. No one is stopping you.

This is not Halo anymore. At least not the Halo I used to play. Loadouts and ordinances have brought randomness and chaos to the game. These changes alter the traditional gameplay: something essential in Halo, the vehicles, are completely ruined, due to default plasma grenades, boltshots and too many powerful weapons(ordinances).
I don’t feel like playing 4, in fact I prefer going back to Reach, with 25,000 players, you can still have fun.
