I’ll start the story from the beginning. A few days ago, I gave my profile password to a friend WHO I TRUST!!! (I know what you’re thinking though) for my own reasons. So yesterday, I was playing online with friends, and my profile was recovered on someone else’s xbox. I got a little mad, needless to say. I asked the only 3 friends who have the ability to sign into my profile, two of which I have recovered my profile on their xboxes and have set the option to sign in without a password. They all said they didn’t do it. So a little while ago, I was invited to a friends party, where some guy asked me if I wanted to buy my profile back. I asked him what he was talking about, and the same friend who I gave my info to said he was buying his profile back too. This guy told me he hacked my profile, and it would cost me 1600 MS points to keep it. Then he made a remark about my mother, so I just muted him. After I left the party, I went to the dashboard, and required a passcode to access live, required a password for sign-ins on any xbox that isn’t my own, and changed my password. After that, I reported him, but unfortunately I can’t block communications yet because he hasn’t sent me any messages. Is there anything else I should do? Can he really still recover my gamertag even though I just changed the password? I’ve never dealt with a hack threat before, so I’d like some help and opinions. Thanks!
Report, block, avoid, Change password using a random generated password generator, and move on.
You should call the support desk and tell them to monitor your account activity. Tell them in which area your account should sign in, so if it signs in somewhere else then they should freeze your account. But you should be fine now though.

Don’t share your password with anyone!
Thats your only defense! I think you were setup…
Just never, NEVER give your password to anyone.
And don’t you find it suspish when you join a party with your friend who has your details and this guy says ‘I have your account now.’ And your friends like ‘Oh, yeah. He has mine, too…’
To me, it sounds like your mate set you up. Sorry to accuse a friend of that, but that’s the way it looks to me.
Change your password, don’t tell him this time, and burn his letter box as a punishment. Well, ignore one of those options…
Only YOU should know YOUR password. Don’t be sharing confidential info, this isn’t preschool.
