We encounter them daily. Maybe you’re one of them. We’ve all been guilty of it at some point. Do you ignore them? Talk trash back? Demolish them during the game? What happens if you talk trash and lose?
After being defeated in a Doubles match to two avid trash talkers today, the following conversation ensued post-game:
Trash Talkers (TT): “BRO U -Yoinking!- SUK BRO, UR A NO LYFE AND U GOT POOPD ONNNNNN!!!”
Me: “Congratulations gentleman, you have beaten me in a video game. I wish your attitude reflected your game accomplishments.”
TT: “BRO Y U TALK NERDY? UR A -Yoinking!- NERD!1! WUT A NERDDDDDDDD!”
Me (after being slightly offended): “I find it pathetic that you have to come to Xbox Live and talk trash to a perfect stranger, just so you can discover an outlet to display your pseudo-dominance and lack of self esteem. Please, when you die, do the only thing you’ll be good for and donate your organs to science.”
TT: “oh…well, I banged your mother”
RAGEEEEEEEEEEEEE, 2v1 them, won 25-6.
What are you best responses to people like this?

But what I normally do is mute and pwn. Cause for some reason, it seems the worst trash talkers continue the tradition with their playing abilities.

Have you noticed that the more people they’re partied much, the more they trash talk? It’s like they’re striving for their friend’s approval by degrading a stranger. One man cannot take on an army of neanderthals!

I simply reward trash talkers with their in game defeats.
Why is it pointless to talk to trash back IMO?
Because everyone only listens to their own voice and are romantically in love with it. Plus it’s a waste of time and effort that could put to better use.
So i stay silent and play, my actions define me, not empty words.

It is entertaining to watch over youtube or listen over game chat.
Suffice to say (in regarding your original post), i was quite entertained. If i was present…
if i’m not in a party chat or playing with friends, i usually don’t say much (if anything ever!) because 85% of the time, i’m in groups with a bunch of dipsticks. occasionally i’ll find people worth playing a couple games with but not usually.
besides, if i do say something, i get called a 12 year old tryhard blah blah blah. and tonight alone i had 3 separate people tell me to get back in the kitchen and get off XBL because “girls don’t need to play Halo.”

I respect girl gamers (I might have made a woman joke once or twice…), especially girl gamers that have Halo skillz. I think the term “tryhard” is hilarious.
If you don’t do well, you “suck” or are a “noob”, etc. You do well, and you’re a “no life” or “try hard”. It’s a lose-lose.
