It depends on how badly Infinity damaged in the crash-land. If it has vertical thrusters powerful enough, then they may slowed down the ship, but if the body / engines suffered heavy damage, the vessel is probably incapable of taking off from the planet, even if under normal circumstances it could do it. Also, I think the nozzles of the vertical thrusters are located on the bottom for obvious reasons, most likely that is the most damaged part of Infinity. Anyway, we’ll see it in several days, so… just be patient.

Also I don’t think the Infinity was meant to land. Wasn’t it constructed in space? So there’d be no real reason it would have extremely strong thrusters underneath it.

Im probably thinking repurposed forerunner tech that they salvage from requiem.
Essentially doing what the covenant did.
This may lead to all human tech being boosted by forerunner tech if they choose to expand it.
