I’m not writing this in rage. I don’t think that Halo 5 is the worst game ever, I don’t think that it is the death of Halo… but to not try to make a way for them to understand that Halo 5’s release was decent is NOT how fans of the series should act. Even if you aren’t a fan of custom games and forge, even if you don’t like campaign, or even if you don’t like something else about the game, there is enough reason here for you to realize that your beloved game has been ruined for multiple other people, and you should join them in their outrage, even if it’s in categories that you don’t love as much.
I’ve considered many things, from making a video going over my review for Halo 5 in more detail… I’ve considered posting a video of me selling my disc back to Gamestop, and telling them that $30 back is still too high a price to return it… My personal thought is to work on making a petition for Halo players to sign in promise that they won’t spend any more money on 343i’s micro transactions.
How do we make 343i understand that we won’t sit back quietly and accept a half finished game, and their heads trying to belittle us on our complaints.?
Oh, you say they haven’t tried to belittle our complaints? Josh Holmes was very blunt in saying that they wouldn’t (wouldn’t, not couldn’t) apply splitscreen to Halo 5. They belittled player’s concerns in Warzone’s ‘pay-to-win’ in their own video about it. Kevin Franklin effectively told players to ‘get good’ in Warzone based on boss kill points being stolen by another team… the multiplayer option that SHOULD BE CASUAL.
343i SHOULD pay. I don’t want to break them, but I want to form something that will force them to listen more closely to their community, and not act like they are listening.
Don’t play it. Don’t purchase REQ Packs. Ultimately if less people play the game then any money they might get from REQ purchases will go down. Not saying I really agree that I want to make them pay, but that would likely be the biggest way to make an impact. I don’t think you’ll appeal to any individual at 343. You mentioned Kevin Franklin for the multiplayer and Frankie is too busy saying people who didn’t like what happened with a certain character are children who “just don’t get it”.
Just stop playing the game. Population retention has almost as big a voice as sales.

Millions? Is that why it’s already lower in the most played games list? Lol. Probably has around 300-400k players at peak now. Which isn’t a terrible thing. If it stays that way.

It could certainly have millions. The games above it just have (perhaps millions) more.
Wow, I thought the Clash of Clans forum was unique for it’s user whining, but clearly not. How should we make them pay? We don’t. I think Halo 5 is a great experience overall and I’m happy with it. You seem very unhappy with it which suggests you’re a long term fan with unrealistic expectations. I suggest that YOU take it back for a refund and never play it again, never visit this forum ever again and never touch a Halo product ever again. That way you have voted with your cash and your time.
But you know you’re in the minority and that your actions will have little consequence for 343i so you’re bitterly attacking 343i to satisfy your needs.
Don’t play if you don’t like it but a lot of people do. If the population online goes way down by the end of the year then they will have their message.
I will never support microtransactions. However, it doesn’t affect the game’s quality. The 343 design team did a great job as far as I’m concerned. Haven’t had fun in Halo since Halo 2 and some moments during Halo 3 (where I really just played Grifball and RocketRace), and that fun is back with an upgrade to movement jukes.
I think you forget how bad Halo 2 and Halo 3 MM was, especially at launch. Not to mention that they are bringing some old-school stuff back like M6D and classic Rocket Launcher I believe. While I hope it can be added in Forge, its existence in this game will make this an even better experience.
I know this is the forums where you complain, and thankfully it’s not a real representation of the community. Most players don’t even visit these forums because they are busy enjoying themselves in the return how Halo used to feel in Customs back in the day.
There are things they can do better, like just look at how Destiny has maintained its longevity by having various unlockables and achievements/missions. But in Halo’s evolution, Halo 5 has been the best experience to me (definitely at launch), overall. Halo 2 had glitches, lag switches, poor map layouts and game settings. Halo 3 had bullet bloom and detection, equipment drops, Melee focused battles, Vehicle control balance, and similar map layouts and game settings that caused issues. You can’t fail to see that 343 has done a better job to give us that Halo feel without all the hair-pulling flaws in the gameplay balance.
Warzone is fun and social, and there are weekend playlists. You’re pretty much set to be honest, more so than you were at the launch of Halo 2 and Halo 3. I even play Breakout just for a social setting and relax cause it’s less deaths.
Hopefully, I can open some eyes to those just trying to “be heard”. It’s probably more productive to go on other generic gaming forums and try to draw in population from players who are bored of other games. The population and community growth is needed, and the game is great enough to deserve it… rather than rage quitting and crying over it like some are hahahaha (not saying the OP is crying as he just wants improvements).
You just move on. A decade of anything is bound to change beyond recognition. Why should Halo be any different than Star Trek or Star Wars? They’re just about unrecognizable from how they started. Roll with the changes or do something else. You’ll probably find a better replacement for your time

But it won’t stay that way and the population continues to drop in pretty big chunks. BO3 took away a lot of players and then Fallout 4 from last night. In less than a week it will be Star Wars and in a couple of weeks Rainbow Six Siege. We shouldn’t be seeing this much of a decline in the population this early into the release. It’s not sustainable.

Of course we should be seeing this happen. Its called people buying new games. Once all the games are out lets see whos population is higher. Once people are bored with battefront, COD or done with fallout they will play another game. It may be halo, it may be destiny, it may be fifa. Players play the newest game in their library, its common. Halo 5 had a terrible placement in the release cycle, but it does have the fact that the game has planned releases on updates in the coming months when other games do not, (forge, btb, etc) and xmas will raise the population. Populations always drops when new games are released, sustainability is long term and its easily plausible that halo 5 will still have a strong population once this mass of releases are over and the updates are implemented. (This paragraph was terribly written but you get the idea.)

I started Halo 5 with seven friends. I’m the only one left playing. 6 are playing BO3 and Fallout 4 and the 7th traded in Halo 5 to get Star Wars. None of my friends who left say they plan on coming back. This Halo is too limited and broken to continue for the long haul.

Yep, vote with your account. Stop playing and move on to a better game. There are several to choose from.
What is wrong with gamers these days…
If you don’t like a game don’t buy it, don’t play it. Find a game you like and play that we don’t care. Gaming is suppose to be fun!
I have played all the halos and I’am loving halo 5 anyone agree hit me up on live GT same as above

Hard to tell if you’re going to like a game until you buy it.
The problem is that a lot of players bought the game and didn’t like it so they’re venting. I figure if they bought it then they’re entitled to their say.
