How do we improve the mantis?

As we all know, the mantis isn’t the killing machine it used to be. I recently posted a topic about how to use the mantis and I got a lot of suggestions for how it should change. Put those ideas here so the mantis can return to its former glory of being feared and not being a slight challenge for one Spartan.

Boost shields, increase stomp AOE, translate vehicle health to HUD, 2 planted grenades to kill.

or drop the vehicle rarity down to rare and REQ points down to 5 maybe 4.

What if it could sprint? Imagine a mantis running full speed at you and not slowing down. Gives me the shudders.

nightmares tonight

Allow us to semi auto the missles or full auto dump em. Also buff the machine gun and health so it rivals the tank

Just needs a slight buff IMO

Give the Mantis what it always needed: A pair of pants!

Mantis shoulder charging scorpions in 1 hit.

Maybe go back to halo’s original vehicle destruction theme of having to melee the hatch open before tossing a grenade in? Does give slight sustainability or at least team mates a chance to get the enemy of the mantis.

Each mantis should have explosive ammo like the Oni hog or a ultra ghost
Rockets should have quick lock-on

I think a boost in walk speed, Oni turrets, and slightly larger blast radius on missles would help.

I’ve always felt that the Mantis has too skinny legs to everything up top, It should have bulky legs, especialy for how slow it moves.

Let’s just remove boarding from the front? That seems like an obvious one

Make them all ONI Mantises! Muahahaha Locking Rockets and exploding Machine gun, muhahaha.

I believe the mantis needs a few buffs, or at least bringing it down in req cost.

If its going to be a req 7 vehicle it needs
-Increased radar
-Faster stomp
-Increased damage
-Better tracking rockets
-Single fire rockets
-Harder to board

Nobody reacts to mantises the way they react to tanks/wraiths. They just shoot it with an AR for 2 seconds and the shields run out, like it’s even weaker than Spartan shields. I was in a tank, a burning tank, shot twice by another tank, and I killed a mantis in 2 shots, even after the mantis hit me with missiles, I still survived. The mantis’ req level is too high for what it’s worth, bring it down or make mantises stronger!
