How do we help 343 save Halo 5?

To make Halo 5 the best it can possibly be I personally think all the following needs to happen, some of it sooner than later.

FFA should be called by its proper name, Rumble or Rumble Pit please not FFA. (This is minor nag but still it’s annoying).

Take the arena playlist out completely and separate CTF as Slayer and Breakout already have dedicated playlists.

We need more permanent separate playlists. Halo stood above the competition due to its variety, this is severely lacking in Halo 5 and an easy fix.

We need CTF as mentioned before, King of the Hill, Oddball, Grifball Headhunter, Team Doubles, Shotty Snipers, Multi-team (action sack) Head Hunter, Ricochet, Invasion, Team Regicide, Flood/Infection, Rumble Rockets, Ninja’s, VIP etc.

Still do the weekend playlists using one of the permanent playlists above that players can vote on or even community created playlists.

Classic playlist where Spartan abilities and everything are all switched off, like Halo 2: Anniversary MP on MCC, no clamber etc to appease all of the community. I did feed this back during the beta also.

UI needs updating, we should be able to see how far through a game our friends are currently and who is in their party. Post game medals breakdown for Arena and Warzone including you nemesis and who you killed the most and the weapon of destruction.

Campaign scoring and timing counters in campaign. Medals on the screen when playing through and also post game medals and enemies killed breakdown.

Spartan OPs or proper Firefight should make a return please, need another game mode to rock our cool custom Spartans in. New achievements and separate commendations in SO or firefight.

Theatre mode needs fixing, we need a system similar to MCC where you can record straight to DVR instead of current system. It doesn’t work properly in its current format and skips all over the place if you try and capture DVR from theatre playback.

File share for forged maps, game modes, screenshots and possibly DVR. File share is a must.

Ability to manually select dedicated servers in your region or others to avert some latency and rubber banding issues.

These are all things that are possible and
some things 343 maybe addressing as I write this. If you agree or disagree feel free to respond.

I want to make it clear that I do not hate 343, loved Halo 4, MCC etc. and enjoy Halo 5. This is positive feedback to make Halo better.

I think the MP (pvp) is amazing and 343 have pulled that out the bag! The story was good in the campaign to but lets make Halo 5 the game it should be, let’s let 343 know what we want!

343 lets make Halo 5 dominant and the Halo community world class again.

I agree with a lot of the things you said. Features that were in MCC, like scoring/timed missions, a more comprehensive post game carnage report, etc, absolutely should have been included in the game.

Bringing back KoTH, Oddball, Juggernaut, Infection, and Griffball needs to happen.

A Firefight mode would be great. It’s been so long since we’ve had one. And I’d love to get those PVE commendations faster.

Totally agree with adding more playlists. In the past, halo games have arrived with 9/10 playlists, adding more later, and I am a little underwhelmed by the little arena playlists there currently is.

Just a quick question I feel I need to ask (Not to anyone in particular, everybody can post their ideas (: ). How would grifball work in halo 5? Because it kinda, sorta doesn’t have a gravity hammer. I mean, I suppose you could make a sword only game type, but that would kinda take away the fun.

OP, no offence, but that is how you would suggest 343 fix Halo 5 (solving many of your and other players major complaints). I’m not suggesting that your opinions are invalid, they are completely valid, but this forum is becoming full of people complaining about Halo 5, and it is just getting tiresome.

So to answer OP’s question, we- as a community, can help to fix Halo 5 by being a better community, we all are reasonably devoted to Halo (hence why we are members here, and take the time to post and share our ideas here) but we are a community divided, half of us seem to want one thing and half of us another, but we all like Halo. Can we all just get off each others’ and 343s throats and actually work together for once. We are one of the worst gaming communities, we are about as salty and intolerant of each other as communities get. This community is just a shell of its former self a ghost, and we need to fix this together.

No disrespect taken, however consider this, I have been playing Halo ever since you were a one year old. I have played every Halo available on console to date on release since 2001.

I am not trying to disrespect you or say your opinion is invalid, however I feel I am better placed to give constructive feedback of how to make it better. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect your right to express your’s, I however do not appreciate the format and constant emboldening you seem to feel necessary.

If you do not agree with anything I have listed which surely you must, I feel you have no right to call yourself a true Halo fan.

It would be appreciated if users here didn’t just jump to conclusions and actually took time to digest what I and others have written.

Did I criticise Halo 5 in the OP? No I didn’t please read it again. Halo 5 is great but without constructive feedback it can’t be as good as it can be.

Everything I have listed with except the inclusion of Spartan Ops/Firefight is possible and easy to do.

Surely the Halo community and fans that truly care about the future of Halo want it to get better? To not want the best for something is stagnation and leads to devolution, no one wants that.

Thank you, hopefully they will see some of the these changes will benefit real Halo fans.

You obviously didn’t read the post, where did I say Halo 5 should go backwards? I mentioned one classic playlist.

I didn’t say the current MP should change its mechanics whatsoever. The MP is amazing as it is it just needs more playlists. I really wished users here would have the decency of actually reading the OP properly before commenting and jumping to silly conclusions. No offence intended though as I understand you just misread the post or maybe I wasn’t clear enough.

I didn’t mention that as I know forge is on the way. I do totally agree with you, we need customs. We do gaming nights on Halo MCC and wanted to do it on Halo 5, at launch no BTB. Hopefully with forge the majority of the missing playlists will return.

Actually the forum offered many constructive feedbacks for Halo 4. Concerning ordnance, loadouts, perks and flinch up to a year before the game shipped. 343i just told us to “trust [them, they] know what [they] are doing”.

Everything good about Halo 5 is because of the community.

Forge coming doesn’t mean more gametype options will, unfortunately.

Edit - I mean things like bottomless clip, vehicle access options, bonus point scoring, respawn/leader traits, random weapon etc etc. Theres a load more missing. I can imagine infection coming with its options butchered too.
