As far as I am aware you cannot change your armour while playing a custom game. Only by pressing Start while browsing the menus can you customise your Spartan. At least thats the only way I know of unless you mean something different.
You can’t change your armor in the middle of a game. You have to change it in between games in the Spartan hub.
You can customize your spartan on waypoint, and when you’re done changing your armor you press start and start again. Next you just get someone to kill you or find a way to die and your new armor will be on when you respawn.

Yes and no. You can customize your spartan while playing through Waypoint, but you can only see the changes when the game ends, in the victory screen (respawns don’t change your armor).
So there’s no point doing it while playing.

Are you talking about custom games? I do this all the time in custom games.
Yes, but i don’t see any point of doing that.
