They just kinda…float. Shouldn’t they come crashing down?
Their engines keep them in the air
Halo doesn’t take place in the 20th century, but it does take place in the far future, so I’m guessing like all other futuristic games, movies, novels, blah, blah, and blah, they have some form of Anti Grav system, or else, they wouldn’t hold still in atmo, they’d speed through the atmo like a dude on a snowmabil going across water.
> Their engines keep them in the air
Well duh, I mean HOW.
> Well, The UNSC have some basic form of Anti-Gravit So that can explain some of it.
I believe that Anti Gravity tech is only used for the interior of ships.
I think, from what i’ve personally seen in the games, the ships are always moving when in atmo. So factor in that they will be travelling at a good speed even when they look to be going slow the lighter ships could, in theory, manage to stay in the air. This is all super speculative though
you need grave plates or panels for grav in a space ship in space so i guess you could repel with the same tech. or all ships have some kind of VTOL system.
Well, I think anti Grav tech kind of goes hand in hand with gravity generation tech, I mean, wouldn’t you need to know the basics of how one works in order to build the other?
Yea it makes no sense. Halo is an odd universe. It’s like were still using grenades and guns 500 years in the future.
but we can fly massive ships into low atmosphere.
Nah.
To fight an enemy that is superior to you, you usually end up studying them, and usuing their technology against them. The UNSC studied the Covenant ships, infantry, leadership, tactics, etc… for years. They must have made their own basic style of the Covenant’s anti-grav tech. Or, they used some sort of thrusters that we couldn’t see when those ships are “landed”.
lol JJAB you must love ships, that’s all you post about lol!!! I admit the halo unsc ones are the coolest though

I spend a lot of my time thinking about Halo
and whenever I think of something that doesnt seem to make sense or fit with science I post it. I love how Halo goes deep into the details and explanations of things so I feel maybe these things might have one too.

That doesn’t work because these ships existed before contact with the Covenant.
That’s cool

you are correct, I think that spartan armor is shielded by the same thing as jackal shields except its spread out all over the spartan’s body, although spartan’s armor might have been developed before they encountered the Covenant.
