To master weapons without compromising their K/D ratio? Mine is decent, but I feel like mastering the Assault Rifle and Magnum is bringing it down.
For the AR & Magnum go for CQG types, Regicide perhaps.
I havent got these mastered but I do see a good few of both those weapons in action on Settler BTB
Autos I don’t use as a primary weapon. I only use them as a secondary with Firepower or I pick them up off of dead enemies. This makes it take longer to complete the commendations but I’m not getting destroyed by trying an AR/JP warrior.
I don’t know why they do it? makes the game incredibly tedious to go for this many kills with weapon X
I’m going to wait until June 3 for the Ar buff before I start working on the commendation
It’s a risk you have to be willing to take. I mastered the AR and Storm Rifle in Regicide, but it was extremely annoying when everyone used a DMR/BR except me.
Right now I’m mastering the Plasma Pistol in Regicide, and a lot of times I end up going like 8-25 or 10-20. I’ve been ranking down though because of that, and am playing worse players so it’s getting a little easier.
Your K/D isn’t going to go down too much using Automatics, mine actually just stayed the same.
AR works everywhere as long as you’re using short controlled bursts. I’ve had great results using it where I would use a shotgun (Wreckage in center, Ragnarok by Pelican, Shatter around center, etc.) I don’t know about the magnum, though. The CQC aspect require a bit more precision.
I have played Flood, and it turned out to be good for my Magnum commendation. Almost done with it.
I found FFA games to be the best for the Assault Rifle since they’re mostly CQC. For the Magnum, I went full SWAT and mastered it in a day… (It was very stressful)

SWAT is a great place for Magnum, tho I avoid that game type like the plague because of my K/D haha
Don’t know how the AR is dragging you down, but for the magnum, just do Flood, SWAT, and CTF (seriously) and just go for the flag a lot.
In CTF, the flagnum gives you a 5sk magnum.
I don’t think my K/D has really gone down drastically, but I do believe it will if I try to master other weapons.
I almost have mastery on all UNSC loadout weapons, but I really don’t want to have to master the Plasma Pistol.
For AR, I’ve just been playing BTB and CTF. It seems to be working nicely, but I do feel like I die a bit more than I would if I could constantly carry a BR.
Well it’s about mastering the weapons.
So if I master it, I should be well enough with it.
all automatics were easy in regicide but inevitably there will be games where your k/d gets murdered.
I’m doing my last weapon now. the plasma pistol.
you’ll soon not care about your k/d. I have taken huge dents in my k/d since chasing commendations. point being once all mastered you can load out your best set up again and work on clawing back your losses
The AR was the first gun I mastered, and my k/d is fine (its not pro either), but it just takes a while to get used to and finding what playlist fits you best.
Go for Magnum in SWAT!
Automatics are really good for FFA gametypes such as Rumble Pit/Pro and Regicide.
Hope I helped! Also, try not to care about K/D too much. You’ll have much more fun mastering the weapons and exploring new aspects of the game!
Cheers!

SWAT is perfect of AR/BR and pistol try it out

Yes!
Well, my overall KD and Slayer KD kept going up since launch, until two weeks ago. Both have dropped, especially the Slayer KD.
Why?
Two parts. I only have the Railgun and splaser to finish off for the UNSC Mastery and I’m doing what I have to in regular game play to get those two weapons and use them effectively; I’m 4/5 Master level for both…home straight!
The second reason, I am rocking with the Storm Rifle/Carbine combo and, well, the Carbine is fun but not that easy. My KD has headed south as I figure them out. Does it matter? No! I am having a fun time using them and learning stuff in the process.
It’s all about, as said above, mastering the use of each weapon. You jsut have to be familiar with each one’s strenghes and weaknesses. Then having a secondary with complements on what your primary is lacking. Playing smart with each weapon.
