So yea I can view the file but I cant watch or download it.
You can’t watch them on your computer via the web or download them to your hard drive. They don’t have a system in place to render the Xbox date into a viewable format online.
You can find files and copy them to your file share and view them on your Xbox in Halo 4 theater mode.

How gay… months later they still dont have the full system in place.

They never said that that rendering would be featured.
I think you expected two much. It was never said nor implied that you would be able to do what you want to do. And I’m glad you find their fileshare system to be happy and full of joy.
I’m pretty sure I seen a thread made by bs angel the other day saying that soon the file share on here will be up and running.

That’s the thread I speak of

It’s up and running now. Has been for a couple days. It just doesn’t do what the OP expected it to do. This is why you don’t set your own expectations for something in your head when it was never said to be an option.
They’re adding a ‘download to x-box’ feature soon, so it will queue for download next time you boot up Halo 4 so you can view it in the theater.
They’re not going to add a render feature like bungie had so you can watch them online though.
It’s possible that a render feature may be in Halo 5 but I wouldn’t count on it. I doubt Bungies render feature got passed along with the Halo franchise. They would need to build the system to do it from the ground up. There’s also always that possibility that they didn’t see the need to go to all the trouble of making a render feature for Halo 4 as Halo 5 will most likely be on the next gen Xbox so they would have to build it all over again.
All guesses by the way.
The render feature we had available for Halo 3 and Reach was all Bungie’s and was not part of the turnover as it was separate from all the Halo stuff.

HA! I guessed right on something for once.

Is 343 not pursuing a renderer? How much would it actually cost to handle the processing? If it’s substantial I think a subscription fee is perfectly reasonable, or maybe a simple minutes per day/week render cap.

I don’t think 343 are worried about that sort of thing. I’d say they were more focused on other more important things.

I guess you’re right, seeing as they’ve completely abandoned Theater for Campaign. I mean, who even uses Halo films anyway? Absolutely no one ever used Theater for Campaign or ever wanted to render their Halo films to view outside their Xbox!

It isn’t just about cost.
Rendering had a bit of a rocky start in the Halo 3 era (and IIRC the beta for that came about two years after that game had launched), with even simple things like reticles breaking. I don’t have any inside knowledge, but I get the impression that it’s not as simple as getting a copy of the game to run on a server and pipe its output into a video file (and even that probably isn’t all that simple); there’s a lot of other stuff that also has to be done to get the feature up and running. :\
