How do I spectate a match?

Just curious, saw an achievement for spectating, is it not implemented yet? Would love to have some matches on in the background while I’m cooking or cleaning the house

Press X to open up your Friends List, select the friend you want to spectate and the option should be in that list. I think you can also spectate the matches of those that you’ve recently played with (list also available in the Friends menu).

Just an FYI you cannot spectate anyone if you are being queued for another match.

I don’t tank it’s implemented yet. I have a friend playing now, but I have no option to spectate him or any recent players. Be nice if we could get info from 343 as to what’s going on. Let us know it’s not in game yet or clearly instruct us on how to spectate a match.

This. It’s usually right above the “Invite to Fireteam” option on the friend’s action list.

It’s implemented. I do it occasionally if I don’t feel like playing.

No spectating available for me. Pressing X for friends never gives me an option for spectating.

I can’t even get old films to load to spectate myself. I always get a load error regardless if the film is arena or war zone. Anyone else having this issue?

It wouldn’t make sense if there were an achievement for spectating but you couldn’t actually spectate yet, right?

How do you find these old threads?

I think they have to have to change their privacy settings if you dont get the option because i know a friend tried to spectate me and said he did not have the option. I had to change something in privacy settings i think.

Click spectate I’ve done it before and it works
