How do I report a player?
I’ve been betrayed sometimes and, in the most recent one I even stood there in case the teammate have accidentally mistaken me for a foe and yet, the player continued to shoot me and even threw some grenades at me which, of course killed me, and still, I couldn’t find an option for reporting that behavior. I tried to ask in the game chat and later on comment on the player’s behavior but now I couldn’t even send a message on the chat (it kept asking me if I wanted to “resend” the message but no matter how many times I presses yes, nothing happened). I even took some screenshots of the betrayal and the messaging attempt.
I have been in similar situations before and though I sometimes assume some of the betrayals are just crossfire from an intense battle, others are plain deliberate like this; I even got prompted with a question once about banning a player that has just betrayed me but I said “No”/“Forgive” (something like that) because that time was clearly an accident since I jumped into a bunch of enemies and the player had already thrown a grenade; however, in plain and obvious situations like the described above there was no means of reporting or letting the player know. I’ve also seen other players abusing racist and segregating language against other teammates and other than “Mute” there are no other actions that can be taken".
I really like Halo since Halo 2 came out many years ago, and although this kind of things are not so unusual in online gaming (unfortunately), it does ruin the experience for them to grow so much in a game.
I would guess that the team at 343 Industries is still hard at work whit a lot of things, and there’s a lot on their plate right now; but I would suggest that, whenever possible, some system for regulating this unsportsmanlike behavior be installed.
