How do I progress further in slayer?

This season I managed to get myself into diamond division for slayer and I’m slowly moving through the ranks.

Unfortunately, as I am the only one of my friends to be in diamond divison, I either find myself playing solo with randoms (which can definitely hinder my performance) or I play on a team with gold divison players against other diamonds.

My games are very inconsistent in terms of performance, and I would appreciate tips to help me progress further to onyx.

In terms of games mechanics, I am good. I’m looking for more set strategies that I should follow in the game e.g. Focus on getting every kill possible and not preserving your own life. Just an example to go by but I hope you guys have some more useful tips.

Thanks a lot
Jonathan

I have the same problem. Honestly I’ve just been avoiding Slayer and playing Warzone however I would suggest possibly branching out and setting up a team of similar ranks. I’m sure these forums would have a few people of your skill level who would be willing to team up with you.

Warzone assault tends to be my default gamemode now, but it doesn’t quite give the excitement of a tense slayer game. I find myself wanting to go on slayer but knowing that I’ll get my -Yoink- handed to me because I don’t have a good team to back me up.

Luckily most the guys I am playing with are platinum’s like me pushing diamond so we work well together. I think you just need to find a clan that is comprised of diamonds pushing onyx.

lol why are you asking help on the forums you are probably better than most of the people on here

Judging by your stats, I’d guess you’re at a stage where you should just focus on grinding it out so law of averages can catch up & see where you’re really at. Your rise in ranks is already pretty fast considering you started in Platinum and barely have any games completed in that playlist, the system doesn’t entirely know what to think of you yet since it’s such low amounts + inconsistent data for it to work with. You don’t need to think about changing anything quite yet, just practice for now to become more familiar with the smaller, non-breakout style maps.
