How do I play halo on pc without MCC?

Hi
I, Like many others have been playing halo since the very first day and game.
I also only recently began playing on desktop in January of last year and I’m dumbfounded on how to play halo without mcc.
if I buy halo 3 or halo reach on steam will i be able to play it and have all my legacy stats and armor? also without having to use mcc at all.

Is there any way for me to play the halo games on pc without using mcc to launch them?
Mcc is HORRIBLE imo for a variety of reasons like the fact that none of my legacy stats or achievements from console had been carried over.
Also for the fact that they mitigated said stats and posterity with the overly simplified customizations and unified menu’s, just genuinely not a fan of MCC as a whole/ how much they cut out just to simplify it and would like to just play on desktop but with my original account. I’m signed into windows 10 and even waypoint with the very same Microsoft/Xbox account I linked to bungie.net way back in 2008. sadly I don’t have my very first accounts from the original games as Prior to owning an xbox 360 I didn’t know I could carry over account data.

I, like many others have invested countless hours into each game and EARNED my armor like hayabusa and security.

sorry for over explaining, can someone please explain to me how I would go about playing halo with my legacy stats involved. there’s really no point in my opinion if all my hard work isn’t carried over onto mcc.

The only Halo games you can play on PC outwith MCC are Halo CE and Halo 2, finding those games today won’t be easy though.

There’s no way to play Halo 3 or Reach on PC without playing the MCC versions and no way to pull in legacy stats, those are tied to the Xbox 360 versions.

big yikes then, definitely opting out of flighting, theres absolutely no point imo. if I was going to waste years of my life for nothing, I’d still like to have something to show for it lol.

there’s 1000% no point in it asking me to sign into my microsoft account to play the game either then, not really understanding th point there if anything tied to my account isn’t there.

pretty sure the reason they ask you to link your account is because the game is cross-play, and progress is cross-save, also, the progression in mcc is different than how it was in reach, getting armor effects is so much easier, you can easily get through 1-2 bars from a season easily in like a week, you don’t have to pick in order either, you can pick any items from the current progress bar you’re on, as long as you have the unlock point thing for it that you get through rankups and challenges

that’s literally the problem. it was difficult back then. not really into games that hold my hand, like games generally do with today’s kid friendly standards

the difficulty of it definitely added to the fun of working towards it but now we have so many seasons to get through and only so many season points actually obtainable per week so i feel like the unlock economy has improved a little bit more, but yeah showing off things that you unlocked doesnt feel as badass because virtually anyone can unlock those same things with not that much effort.
I mean back in the halo reach days whenever you came across a inheritor rank player it always felt so impressive, same thing with recon in halo 3, you dont really have that nowadays anymore, let’s hope it comes back with infinite.

MCC is a totally separate game to the originals - hence no carry over.

The customisation options are designed for short seasons of months, not a full game with years of lifespan.

They’ve made it pretty clear that Infinite will have a mixture
