I’ve done all of the vidmasters, but how do I actually obtain my Recon Armor? I can’t find it on Bungie.net. Where do I go if I even can?
You cannot obtain it sorry :C But really check on Halo 3 it should be unlocked

Yea you do. They only gave Recon to the people that logged on the week they gave it away for free. After that you have to do the Vidmasters

No, they didn’t.
I created a new account or two after the ‘week’ you claim and my accounts eventually got Recon.
Please don’t make stuff up.
I also have the same issue. I would like the see some “Road to Recon” button here yet, I know these things just wont happen. Any form of resolution to this issue is welcome.
I’m still missing one of the vidmaster achievements… And I got recon having only logged in a couple weeks ago (well after the first week it was made available)…
Oh I thought it was a limited time thing. Well then I have no idea whats wrong, it’s probably glitching.

I believe you’re thinking of the Blue Flames in Halo Reach.
They were a limited time thing, and if you didn’t get the Bungie app or play within the week they gave them away, you didn’t get them.

The guy wasn’t telling the truth, Recon wasn’t only available for one week, it is available to everyone.
343i has to manually unlock Recon for every account which takes a little while. Before Halo 4 launched they usually did it on a monthly basis but from recent posts on here, nobody has received Recon since which sucks.

all they have to do is make a download on the marketplace which will unlock recon for them.

New players don’t have Recon.
Try making a new silver account and loading up Halo 3, it won’t have Recon. 343i had to manually unlock it for all players which they did on a monthly basis before Halo 4 dropped.
Sadly this isn’t the case any more and we have no idea if they still plan on giving out Recon armour to new players, in fact they’d been completely silent about it.
My understanding is that the Vidmasters worked back when Bugnie was in charge because once you completed all 7 achievements, you had to go on Bungie.net (old one), make a Bungie account, and press a button to unlock your armor.
As for the Recon give away, I have no clue who got it, but I’m pretty sure it’s too late now.
I wouldn’t worry about it though. Ever since ODST came out and people have been able to unlock the armor, it’s gotten progressively less special, and besides anyone who is still playing Halo 3 won’t care.

In that case I don’t think there’s any hope. I had the same issue with the blue flaming helmet Bungie gave away to all Halo Reach players upon their departure from the series, because I joined the fun too late to receive. I, like you tried to find out if I could get it, but sadly I can’t. I highly doubt 343 will give away either Recon or the flaming helmet to anyone anymore, as that would be an insult to Bungie, making their legacy seem like no big deal.
Bungie and or 343 released Recon to everybody once the mantle was handed down and Bungie no longer controlled Halo, so anybody can have Recon anytime, for free.

You’re misunderstanding hugely.
Recon was given away to all players because the Vidmaster Challenge was no longer possible to complete once 343i took over.
The Blue Flames were Bungie’s going away gift to the community, and it was a limited time only thing.
Also, 343i hasn’t given away the Bungie chestplate (which activated the red flaming helmet) to anyone.
They will likely begin giving Recon away to new players sometime in the future, but not Blue Flames, that would slap what Bungie did in the face and something they don’t plan on doing.
