Can anyone tell me how I join other people’s matchmaking games or any games in fact on xbox live?? I seem to be able to host one but don’t know where the options are to join someone else’s… I’m getting too old for this gaming thing
To join Matchmaking, you simply select “Matchmaking” in the main menu, choose a playlist, and start a search. The game will search for people to pair you up with more-or-less at random.
You can invite friends to accompany you in almost any game mode, as well – you can search with them in Matchmaking, or play private matches in Custom Games. To do this, you go to the appropriate lobby…
Now, see the list of your friends on the right? That is the Active Roster. You can actually use it just like a menu: move your cursor to the right, pick a player, and press “A” on them to get some options. Depending on what you’re doing, you may be able to invite them (“INVITE TO PARTY”) or you may be able to join their game (“JOIN PLAYER”).
Note that some game modes do not allow you to invite people to join you. This includes Theater, as well as a few playlists in Matchmaking (like Score Attack). Most of the time, though, you should be able to invite friends to join you.

And btw, Halo Reach doesn’t support in-progress-join for matchmaking matches (like COD or GoW).
