Ok, I suck. Im a newb. So, what should I do differently? What is the ideal look sensitivity (I use 10)? What is the ideal button layout (I use “Recon”)? What weapons should I use (dont say “just the pistol” cause it would be pretty boring just using the pistol all the time)? What other things should I do? I hope this post will have serious responses instead of inane trolling. Im putting my faith in the good will of the Halo Community. Which I hope there is good will in it.

It worked for me in Halo PC. I was pretty decent in that game. Not pro or anything, just decent. So, what should it be? Please tell me without that vibe of attitude you gave in your last post.

aSo first you must have 3 sensitivity,the pistol its good,might be repetitive but ill help you to get the goodies later,the DMR and nedle rifle are good.
Tip
With the pistol/dmr/NR always aim for the body,once the shields are depleted shoot the head.
Donr pick armor lock for christ sake get jetpack or sprint,in case of CQB weaponry then grab the shotgun but dont overuse it and always have a back up like plasma repeater or dmr

Vehicles are supposed to splatter but many people forget they can shoot rendering them merciless against armor-
Use the dmr as your primary and remember that every shot is crucial as an equally armed enemy can kill you,the battle rifle is good but its severely out matched by other weaponry so i reckon you to replace it instead of the pistol
The rocket launcher and other explosives are whored and i think people should regulate with them use them against vehicles and have a anti personel option in case they ran out of ammo.
Also dont -Yoink!- any power weapon,the sword i use it as secondary if im reloading my dmr

wrong. use whichever sensitivity suits you (it probably will be around 3-5). start at 3 sensitivity and try out every sensitivity for a few games. 10 sens might be good for pc but you have to consider that the mouse is much more accurate than a controller.

i do not recommend that neither. a headshot weapon (pistol or rifles) will always be faster than an automatic weapon. example: you no scope your enemy in the body. if you switch to a headshot weapon now you will have an easy kill.
a few more points
-get used to the maps. this will either come naturally by just playing them or you can fly through them in forge. get to know the spawn areas and the weapon and cover layout.
-learn to strafe. do not charge in in a direct line. do something unexpected. move sideways and crouch in a middle of a fight. as your shields go down jump before your opponent can deliver the final shot. note that jumping all the time isnt recommended (unless its swat) because you cannot move in the air so the enemy has an easy time anticipating your landing point.
-learn the basic move patterns for the average player. this only comes by playing alot. if you have a certain knowledge of the general movement patterns you can much easier anticipate their attack/escape routes and cut them off. this also allows you to escape easier. example: if you know the enemy will throw a grenade after you when you try to escape and are one shot, you can use his grenade recovery to flee since he cant shoot while recovering.
-do things differently. try to use various map movements to flank/ambush the enemy (works best with a team)
-get used to power weapon spawns. the most important ones are on a 3 minute spawn. watch the timer as you pick them up so you know when the new one comes up. also learn rushing strategies to get those weapons (sprint)
-use headshot weapons. they have much quicker killtimes than automatic weapons.
-use callouts if you are playing in a team
-rather shoot your weapon than meleeing or nading too much. normally just use grenades before the encounter or when the enemy flees.
-i dont like AL because it is a misconception, but you could use and exploit the hell out of it. i would recommend sprint to you however.
-make the right decisions. this will come by time. for example if you and your enemy are one shot and in cover you have to decide whether to jump out and challenge him or to regain your shields. if youre unsure take the safe route always. another example: the enemy retreats and you have to decide if you follow him or not. if you know the map you know his teams gonna spawn near so its better to let go.
-be a team player. its better to work as a team and help your mates. try avoiding unnessecary deaths.

no. power weapons are the most crucial weapons on the map. see it like this: if you dont have them the enemy has them and then youre pretty much effed.
learn their locations and spawn times as well as rushing strategies. i cannot stress that enough.
these weapons grant you easy map control which in return grants you easy accessible power weapons 
also if you have two power weapons (say sword and rocket) its always a good idea to give one of them to your teammates.
one more thing.
-try avoiding grenades by jumping away from them. with movement acceleration in reach this may not work always but its better than nothing

Because your K/D is less than 1.00. All he has to do is finds what works for him as a player, you don’t have to be like everyone else to succeed on Reach.
OP play what works best for you, then you’ll get to grips with the game.

how come the pro players generally play the same way? could it be because thats the most effective way to earn kills?
