How do I get the TU?

I am a noobie to the whole process and I would like to know how to get the TU or any other mods for my stock, factory copy of Halo Reach. I have to be an Xbox Live Gold Member first, right, but then what do I do?

Once you login to Halo: Reach on Xbox LIVE, you will be prompted to do an update, this is the Title Update itself.

If you want the changed in the Title Update, you will need to search in the following playlists for 85% Bloom & other TU changes MINUS Bleedthrough:

Big Team Battle
Double Team
Multi-Team
Rumble Pit
Team Objective
Super Slayer
The Arena

For gametypes with 85% bloom, other TU changes INCLUDING bleedthrough & 3 shot kill pistol:

Anniversary Classic
Anniversary Big Team Battle
Anniversary FFA

For gametypes with ZERO bloom, other TU changed INCLUDING bleedthrough:

MLG

For gametypes with ZERO bloom, other TU changes, MINUS bleedthrough:

TU ZB Slayer

Save these gametypes to your file browser as you can not modify the TU settings with the default gametypes, they are gametype controlled.

> For gametypes with ZERO bloom, other TU changed INCLUDING bleedthrough:
> MLG

does every MLG Gametypes have this ?

Yes, MLG never abandoned Bleedthrough, they are still using the gametypes from the days after the TU came out.

In V7, MLG upped the Melee damage to 100%, so them dropping Bleedthrough and bringing it back down to 75% in unlikely.

Hey thanks Lil Moa. I did get a fullscreen message the first time I started Reach after joining Xbox Live. Maybe that’s what that was for.

Full screen messages tend to come every month to inform you of the changed in the monthly Matchmaking updates, there WAS one to tell you about the TU & its changes, but it should have been overwrote by the most recent pop-up.

Well will it change the version number in the bottom corner? If so what should it be? Mine is “v.1.1”.

I’m 99% sure that that’s the version number for Reach + TU.

As Mr Cobb said, if you have the Title Update installed, it should say 1.1, if you don’t have the TU installed, nothing will be there.

Thanks, I’ll check mine out right now.

I have my game up. When I go into the matchmaking menu it come up with a message telling me I’m missing content, then it takes me to the marketplace, but I don’t see anything of a practical nature on the entire list.

I must mention that I am not a Gold member yet so I do not have access to playlists.

Do any of the TU changes show up in single player or machine local games, or is all of it for online games only?

All the Title Update changes except for one are all multiplayer related, however, if you can get your hands on one of the gametypes and load it in Custom Games, you will be able to play it.

There is a title update change which allows people without a hard drive to play Firefight & Campaign on co-op, all other changes are just multiplayer, not Campaign, Forge or Firefight.

My best guess is that it’s a broken error message – wrong text for the wrong problem. Seem to be quite a few of those…

If you are new to Halo and Reach is your first game, please do yourself a favour and
play the TU playlists or the Zero Bloom Slayer playlists. You wont hate the game after
your first match that way.

Best of luck!

You will probably be prompted to download it once you play Reach (but I’m not sure…)

But to actually play it you will have to play in one of the Title Updated playlists.
