How do I get people to play custom games?

Hi, I recently bought Halo 4 this week, so I am quite new to it.

I am wondering if it is possible to get a game mode to appear in the playlists, or at least try to get people to join the game.

I tried looking on Google for a solution to the problem, and I could not find one.

Also, do I need to forward ports in order to get people to join?

Spam the living crap out of them with invites. Usually works.

Custom Games were for like playing locally or for spamming invites like Saibot said xD
