So, I pre-ordered my copy of Halo 4 from Gamestop months ago, when it was first made available. But now they’re running this thing that lets us vote for which pre-order bonus items we get.
now, it says we’re supposed to pick one of the three to go with our copy of Halo 4. The items include the Arctic Battle Rifle skin, Haven premium theme, and Ghost avatar prop.
So… if we’re supposed to choose just one, how exactly do we pick which item we want? Do we get an e-mail on launch day, or… what?
I’m not too sure, but I imagine when the vote is over you’ll just be given the code with the highest vote when you go to collect it, or e-mailed the code if you’re buying online.

Depends on the terms, my codes are emailed the day of release for pre-orders and weekly thereafter for post launch purchases according to my online store, best to check your email and see what condition they gave you.
You don’t really pick your preorder bonus you get from a retailer like Gamestop. If you are in a country that has voting for DLC then its likely the voting is up to that third and final round of voting between a ghost avatar prop and wallpapers. For those that arn’t “emailed” codes, it should come in a packet inside the cover of the game where xbox live gold 2-day trials are found as well.
I think you will be getting a code to unlock an Xbox Live Backround Theme, Battle Rifle unlocked early with the artic weapon skin and possibly a grunt riding in a ghost for your Xbox Live Avatar.

Australian EB Games(Gamestop in Australia) have Forest skin with HAZOP armor, I think Americans get it as well, Artic BR, Ghost prop, Emblem, and Halo 4 Live Theme.
