How do I get custom challenge of the week

When this damn error message comes up every -Yoink!- time I try to make a challenge

Sorry, we encountered a problem while processing your request.

Seriously, what is it with this website that this stupid -Yoink- error message comes up every other time I try and click a link here.

I’ve never seemed to have a problem with creating custom challenges.

What web browser are you using? What version?
(If you don’t know what a web browser is, then it’s Internet Explorer. Still need a version number.)

What specific link or button did you click?

If it was the button to submit Custom Challenges, then what settings did you put into the form?

How many times has this happened?

I’m using Mosaic

I clicked Zelda: Link to the past

It’s happened at least once

Please help

I can say from my own experience this is an issue.
Issue confirmed present in Latest versions of Chrome (21.0.1180.75), Firefox (14.0.1), and IE9 (unknown version number, but fresh DL from site.

I’ve seen this several times, and can be quite annoying, as refreshing the page or “going back” resets the form, so spending 5 minutes building a challenge only to be left with a clean form can be frustrating.

I have no idea what all those numbers mean, I’m not very computer smart so I will just have to wait for this to be fixed, I hope it’s soon, I could really use these extra credits.

So it’s a browser-independent bug. Interesting.

Hm… Do you notice any lag, or a very long submit time, between attempting to save your challenge and seeing the error message?

Hey man what’s the deal.

I was here first, why are you helping him?

He obviously knows a thing or 2 about computers, I need direct help.

Those are current browsers. Also, I loaded up my virtual machine of windows 98, and confirmed the site is very much broken in Mosaic and Lynx (along with a plethora of other issues, since legacy browsers clearly are not supported.

Confirmed issue in Safari and Opera. (Don’t think those are fully updated, since I never use them)

Well that’s not fair, I can’t afford to go out and buy chrome or firefox. This needs to be available to everyone not just people who have money to throw around.

Chrome & Firefox are FREE internet browsers.

Sorry, didn’t mean to single either of you out.

You’re both having the same problem, and based on the information he provided, it’s a problem with the website – not with anything either of you are doing or using. Because of that, either of you can provide information on the problem; I just asked him because when I clicked “Quote”, he was the last person to have posted in this thread.

Anyway, it looks like a site issue, so hopefully, the web devs at 343i will spot this thread and look into it.

Norton AntiVirus is telling me these can potentially harmful to my computer.

Uninstall Norton, get AVG Free or Avast, a lot better by far trust me

Both Chrome & Firefox are safe to use, otherwise I wouldn’t have them installed on my computer right ow.

Just be warned, most Anti Virus programs will flag each other as being viruses, with a rather unstable one like Norton, expect it to flag AVG up.

It isn’t a virus.
