How do I get armor unlocks?

I don’t know very much about Halo 5 and haven’t been able to find any answers by looking it up, but how do I get the armor unlocks, such as the visors and armor pieces?

Hey OP. Things like that are gained by opening REQ packs - you can get packs from playing and completing games and completing commendations.
There’s a good overview from Halo 5’s launch blogs that tells you about how the system works:
https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/news/halo-5-guardians-req-system-introduction

Other ways to get REQ packs include saving up REQ points from completing games and spending them appropriately, you get some free daily packs, you can sometimes win packs in giveaways or get free packs during live streams and lastly you can buy packs from the REQ store

Thanks!

Save up req points by completing multiplayer games in arena and warzone. Since you are new open packs in this order… Open bronze packs until it takes slightly more than 5000 req points to get two unlocks. Then open silver packs untill they refund two 1500 point req cards instead of unlocks. Then move on to golds, they refund two 3000 point cards when completed. This is the fastest and cheapest way(req point wise to getting everything). Yes you can get daily win packs for winning an arena game, warzone game and warzone firefight game. You will also get packs for completing commendations and getting to some SR ranks. Also you can get some gold packs for completing some of the Warzone firefight commendations. Also if you stick around Halo the World HCS events are coming up and they give out codes during the event that have to be redeemed within minutes but they give you a gold pack and sometimes even a platinum pack. You can buy packs with money if you choose but it really isn’t necessary if you are patient enough to grind points. The pack grind is pretty long and can be frustrating not getting what you necessarily want at times. I would recommend buying the recruit pack, which was on sale for $5 not sure if it still is available or on sale, but at least that will get you a DMR certification which helps a lot in warzone. Also maybe a mechanized vehicle pack or two as they can help in warzone as well. Just starting out I would recommend grinding heroic warzone firefight as that is probably the easiest playlist, get you used to aiming and mechanics and it pays out good req point and XP points…use those req point boost and jackpots as often as you can. Arena can be tough just about anywhere. I would recommend super fiesta as you will get to use some of the req weapons there and see how they work.

Thanks! I enjoy playing super fiesta, so this should hopefully work out for me.

Do people go for bronze? Back when I was first unlocking everything the go to strat was jump strait to silver and then jump to gold once silver is completed

Best way since launch has been bronze -> silver -> gold.

I recommend it. If you are just starting out with no unlocks what so ever you usually can get two if not three unlocks for less than 5000 points, especially as bloated as the req system is now. So why knock out some of the lowest level unlocks for as cheap as possible? Granted it probably won’t take to many packs before getting two guaranteed for 5000 points is better but it’s still worth going through some bronze packs.

I guess the difference was I wasn’t going for weapons or vehicles but solely armor since I didn’t care much for warzone. Oh well it’s still gonna take forever but imo that was the fun part

Going for specific stuff isn’t really the way to go. It’s best to just go for unlocking everything as cheap as possible vs playing the RNG game with packs.

I would start of just playing normal, but not playing war zone, then when you Have enough Warzone RP boosts, go into war zone, put on a legendary RP boost, and play the game. Thats what i Did.

Mcc. You can get stuff for completing games.
