how do i enjoy grifball?

Im trying to understand why people enjoy this playlist… Not hating.

All i do is trade kills…? The only time i dont trade is if i catch them off guard for a split second. But literally there is no way to out-play someone head to head… And thats lame.

In h3 grifball you could outplay kids head to head. Make them swing their hammer first by having them think you are bout to close in on them. But in h5 that strat doesnt work at all.

The whole waiting for them to swing and lunging with a sword strategy does work. You just gotta distance yourself right. Sometimes I was too close and was destroyed, or too far and couldn’t land the swing. However if you get the position right, just ADS with the sword for the lunge and you’ll be good. I usually just hover in the air, ADS and wait for them to swing and then lunge.

You just gotta git gud

Your name plus this comment is just 2gr84me.

Play hammer time
Equip gravity hammer
???
Profit

You have to go after the guys who are going after the ball carrier.

Have you tried playing objective? It is still crazy fun to have the entire team chase after you.

All you’ll be doing is trading kills if you’re intent on running right into them.

I’ve found that making smart choices with thrusters (like trying to anticipate when they’re going to swing, or swing and then immediately thrusting backwards to both cancel the swing animation and avoid their own) makes this a lot less of an issue.
.
And that strategy still works in Halo 5. It just doesn’t work if you run right into the enemy like a loon,.

Play with friends I guess. You can’t really explain how to have fun with something.

Smash thing with hammer

I enjoy it when I get behind my enemies and get ridiculous multikills.

I have noticed this too, skill means nothing with the hammer anymore. They can miss the swing, and still trade. Like, I know that if somebody has the drop on me and will kill me, I can just swing and trade with them.
Ball carrier is no longer able to do anything for himself, he can kill 1 hammer or 1 sword, then trades with the next guy. Remember when a skilled Runner could get a killionaire with the ball?
Unless you are actually retarded, you can usually trade with a better player.

I still enjoy it, but I want to play Grifball, not Tradeball.
