How Do I change the map variant?

I’ve downloaded a few different map variants but they won’t show up in my local files, even tho it says they are there.

Have you checked your Active Transfers in the File Browser, to make sure that the downloads finished?

Are you sure you’ve given the File Browser menus enough time to load? Reach literally has to go through each file one-by-one to figure out what kind of file it is, and it will refuse to display any menu until it has checked every last file on your hard drive.

Well I’m on halo anniversary, does that make a difference?

I go to select the map. All active transfers are complete. And when I hover local files it says there are 4 map variants, (that I downloaded) But when I select local files, on the built in map types appear.

Hm, I’ve never tried downloading stuff to Anniversary.

Sorry if this sounds like a question with an obvious answer: the variants you’ve downloaded are for Anniversary maps, yes? You’re not trying to use Anniversary to download a Forge World variant or a Powerhouse edit or anything like that, right?

To be honest I’m not sure. When I go to most downloaded map variants, it doesn’t specify what map it’s for. It just has a title and description.

Doesn’t it show a little thumbnail of the base map it’s Forged on?

Like this?

ahhhhh they weren’t showing thumbnails. I found some that are. That works. Thank you. I guess I need to have reach on my harddrive for most of these maps.

Check you have actually downloaded the file. Also make sure you are using the same save device that you were when you downloaded them.
