How do I change my name?

I installed the game via Steam and signed into a Microsoft account that I didn’t even recall having but my name has this random 4 numbers. I’ve seen people in game that don’t have numbers, so how do I get rid of these numbers?

There is help on the Xbox website for this topic.

Click the Support menu, then Help Topics, then click Account & profile
Once the page loads, select Gamertag & profile to expand, then ’ How to change your Xbox gamertag’. From there you can select help for whichever device you are going to use to make the change.
