Have you tried asking them about the length of the ban? This would be the next thing I would do.
Edit: Looking at OP’s play history the only conclusion I can draw is that Skywayplaya plays more ranked than social games. Ranked medals:
Marksman (5 kills with BR / Commando): 289
Rifleman (5 kills with Pistols): 0
Gunslinger (5 kills with ARs): 0
Perfects (individual kills where you miss no shots with precision guns): 199
Social medals (found by subtracting Ranked medals from Overall medals):
Marksman (5 kills with BR / Commando): 34
Rifleman (5 kills with Pistols): 22
Gunslinger (5 kills with ARs): 24
Perfects (individual kills where you miss no shots with precision guns): 49
Considering that OP is an Onyx player on console who uses controller (meaning aim assist + red reticle) this doesn’t seem super suspicious. The accuracy stats don’t seem to be unusual but I know that can be scuffed by mag dumping.
Hope you don’t take any offense to this. Your stats deserved a look. That’s a nice website. I think in the future I’m going to make it a goal to get some of these. No way I’ll ever intentionally get a double headshot with a sniper though. (OP did not either.)
There have been a few console ban posts recently with an unusual amount of support towards the individual caught in the ban.
I think the confirmation bias of “consoles can’t cheat” has reinforced the idea that if someone gets banned on console they’re entirely innocent across the board.
Well it seemed like a way to start rolling down a bad hill. The other extreme of “You were punished so you are guilty and lying.” I see on the Steam forums sometimes rubs me the wrong way for the same reasons.
The ban length is for two weeks (see the other thread). That doesn’t sound like a cheating issue. OP is probably guilty of something but 343i won’t say what it is. They’re is probably avoiding saying anything in order to not give bad actors tips on how they got caught, but knowing something is a bannable offense will help players not do the same thing again in the future.
I’m mostly glad to know that the ban isn’t permanent. The whole situation is going to resolve itself by the end of the month. In the future when I see ban threads I’m going to tell them to specifically ask support for the length of the ban. Not knowing even that is just wrong.
Innocent until proven guilty. The fact they will not say why he is banned is absurd. And everyone jumping at his throat assuming everyone who gets banned is 100% guilty and a liar sound like sjws defending amber heard.
That’s nuts. I don’t have a twitter account but if anyone does I recommend telling this pro player the following:
Send a support ticket to https://aka.ms/HaloSupport asking for an appeal.
Make sure to ask how long the ban is.
The official support ticket system is the best method of getting it resolved and is exactly what the PR team wants people contesting bans to do. There have been false bans before in MCC and this was the recommended step. (Pestering the PR people isn’t objectionable, just make sure you also submit the ticket.) The ban length is informative about the severity of it. If they won’t give much info then this is one tidbit that is useful.
I saw that someone from the competitive insights already replied (just a joking response nothing definitive). His reach is arguably one of the highest in the halo community, so I’m sure someone has seen it.
Bruh, whatcha want from me? My console diagnostics? Lmao. I play the game after work with my friends. I don’t cheat. Wouldn’t you think I’d have my Microsoft/Xbox account as a whole affected if caught cheating?
The post is about asking how can I appeal a ban when I don’t know the reason for the ban? I don’t know how I can dispute something when I don’t know what there is to dispute.
What would you do in this situation to resolve it? Note: you get no information about the reason for ban. You do not get any info other than links to code of conduct pages. You do not get a timeline of when they believe the incident occurred. You get 1 chance to appeal and then whatever they decide, their decision is final.
