Been banned for 5 days now. Support just says their decision is final and to review spartan Code + Xbox Community Standards when I tried appealing. How do I appeal a ban when I don’t know the reason for the ban? This wouldn’t be as frustrating if I knew I had done something wrong (eg cheating, suiciding, throwing games, quitting games, etc).
I’ve reviewed the code of conduct multiple times and am finding nothing that I think I violated. How can I get help with this? Am I just screwed and now have to play on a different account?
Many people seem to have this issue (especially when BTB was REALLY broken) and Support doesn’t give any help. I think most had to just wait out the ban period.
I’ve just seen other forum posts of players requesting appeals and not even being told what they did wrong, pretty much your situation. Best bet is try to appeal and state you aren’t sure what you were reported for, but be ready to get the same general answer of “review TOS.”
The report system seems to be flawed at the core, for all we know they just have a flag system and dont archive the details of said reports. Which could be why you dont get a reason.
I’ve asked already and both times they give me generic answers essentially saying “we won’t reveal the reason due to security concerns. Here’s the code of conduct links to review” and then that’s it.
This is basically what happened to me when I got banned from MCC flights. No idea why and I know I didn’t do anything worth getting banned over. They won’t tell me, either.
Seems pretty nuts to ban someone without giving them any info. It’s so frustrating and wouldn’t be such a difficult thing to state. I don’t need the details of the investigation. I want them to cite a reason for the ban and a time of when the incident occurred.
This problem really gives me the feeling that bans are given based entirely on the number of reports received. It was a thing in another game i play, a toxic sore loser either gets his entire alliance/clan to report, or uses a bot to mass produce alts to report you. The fact they will not provide a reason says that the ban appeal ticket system is entirely automated and no real person ever views them, so when the sore losers mass report you, you get banned, and the automated system just assumes you deserved it and will immediately copy and paste respond “see tos” and close the ticket. Of all the valid criticisms this game gets, this one is the worst in my opinion. Players getting banned without notice, no reason and from what i can see no set time for the ban, support ignores us and the community management dont seem to even acknowledge the problem. Another post with this same problem got locked by mods.
Yeah it’s ridiculous. I’d love to see how often they over turn a ban. But they’d use that metric to show how accurate their bans are because they never get over turned, even though that’s not an accurate conclusion to pull from the metric.
It’s so frustrating. I’ve never been banned from an xbox game before. I just want to play with my friends after work.
Come clean what did you do? I remember during the H5 hay days and people would come on the old waypoint and be like I have this long ban from quitting only once…then we check their game history in their service record and it would have a bunch of DNFs…aka quits…

Very few quits ever. None in the last several games. Even if it was a ban due to quitting, those bans don’t last more than 2 days tops and it’s been 5 for me.
I do not cheat, I do not harass others, I do not threaten anyone, I do not suicide myself or throw the game, I do not sit idle, I do not shoot my teammates (on purpose, of course there’s the occasional teammate walks in front while shooting incidents). What else am I gonna be permanently banned for? How is it acceptable that it was an immediate permanent ban without any information as to why or when they believe an incident occurred?
Check my response above. You can look at my gameplay history. I haven’t done anything and 343 is refusing to provide a reason for a ban. I haven’t even had technical issues with getting disconnected from the game.
