How did you unlock the ODST achievement?

Now i am pretty sure that some of you notice that the Crimson achievements are glitchy as hell.

In particular, i unlocked the ODST achievement which requires you to and I quote “In Crimson DLC matchmaking, kill a player while airborne from a Man Cannon.”

…Except that i wasn’t anywhere near a Man Cannon nor did i kill a player while being air borne in any sort of way. The way it was unlocked was -Yoinking!- hilarious tbh.

How it was earned was on a fun game of CTF on Wreckage. Long story short, i drove a Warthog with two other people and in front of me is an oncoming hog. Naturally, i charged straight on like any good Spartan would and the result? Everyone died in a blaze of awesome glory and then the ODST achievement unlocked for me!

Feet first into hell? More like feet first into the gas pedal :P. Anyways, have any you experienced glitchy unlocks with the achievements?

My unlocking of that achievement was less flammable.

I had just spawned and someone from the opposing team was right there. He chucked a 'nade, i jumped and was blown forward slightly while shooting at him and killing him he must have already been hurt because it didn’t take much

It seems that the trigger is elevation+momentum+kill = ODST Drop Achievement

Sticky grenaded a ghost. My response was simply O_o

I was playing CTF on Wreckage, and I stuck a guy on a ledge above me and I got the Achievement.

I threw a sticky at a Warthog then died and got a kill from the grave. Up popped the achievement!

Wreckage. Trying to flank group of three or four dirty Blues holed up in the middle. Used jetpack to get some height, and spammed grenades into the doorway. I go down in a hail of bullets, but “double-kill from the grave, beeyatch” and then the 'cheevo notice pops up.

Hmm I’ll go back and watch the clip but i am pretty sure there was no change in elevation when our hogs violently collided with each other. Otherwise i think you may be on to something.

I am starting to pattern here. Regardless of the cause, an explosion is involved lol.

I splattered an enemy while in a ghost. Aha.

Was on Shatter. Standing on top of one of the buildings with the hole in the roof. Someone came in. I dropped down, shot em with an AR a few times, melee killed them.

So I guess I AM an ODST. They only drop me in from stepladder range though. Insurance and all…

Oh, and I got the “Special Delivery” cheevo for that cheap kill as well. Yay me!

I DID notice that the cheevos do NOT show as unlocked on my Waypoint stats page. You?

I got it while jet packing around a corner to avoid a boltshot user. My friend got it just from calling in a simple personal ordnance.

I beat down a mantis and got it along with the one for boardinga mantis. didnt get the kill shot one though for some reason

Also unlocked it with an explosion :wink:

During a game of Extraction some guy spotted me and gave me hell while I tried to fight back without succes. As a last attempt to kill the guy I threw a plasma grenade and died… while lying there I scored a kill from the grave and then BLEEP BLOOP Achievement Unlocked

I played the crimson map pack last night, after cruising some fc3 lol, when the first map I played - i checked the achivments as im a bit of a GS -Yoink!-. I thought great i will get these easy, spent the whole game time failing like a true spartan spamming the man cannon and DMR, AFTER i gave up on this and thought yano what im just gonna kick me some -Yoink-. What Y’ano POP for the chiveo how you ask, I jumped backwards to avoid blast damage from a noobs sticky when i blasted a rail-gun straight between his beedy eyes. SO i would agree that some sort of elevation and high damage (grenade or cannon) weapon does this. Hope this helps./

I got both the ODST and the other man cannon related one ( cant remember the name) after the driver i just jacked stuck my ghost, and then decided he wanted it back. His grenade killed us both, and i got 60 gamerscore.

A melee after a jump and thruster pack boost unlocked Special Delivery and ODST for me.

Got shot, didn’t kill anyone, died and then it unlocked…
I’m not complaining!

I got that and the melee one in the same game.

ODST I stuck a guy and jumped away. Blip.
Special Delivery I melee’d a guy and jumped away. Blip.

I am looking into it but so far 49/49. I see no mention of the additional achievements.</mark>

I actually killed a player while airborne from a man cannon. Unbelievable, I know.
