I’m aware you all know what I’m going to be ranting on about. The white X. How anyone could have screwed this up is beyond me, yet it happened.
First off, it’s white. Why white? IDK. Seems like 343 has a tendency to try to fix things that weren’t broken and end up having it either gone or just not work. Red was better because it sticks out more than White. Especially in a game where the light from the Heavens always shines down on you.
Second, it follows the players dead body. Welp, better get used to saying “Where my ‘X’ was” because with all the grenades being thrown around you might be lucky enough to know where the body was before it get’s either launched across the map or falls off it.
Third, why was it gone to begin with? (That’s pretty simple).
343, I know this is your first Halo game, and I know you want to stick out from Bungie. But you don’t do it by taking out features that should just be mandatory in the first place. It’s like taking out the burger in a hamburger.
Another thing! The ‘X’ disappears whenever a player respawns, and is not on a set timer.

I don’t think the White X in its current state is going to be efficient for Halo 4.
First off, it’s white. A lot of Halo 4’s maps have a lot of light, especially Haven. A White X makes it hard to see. Red was better because it sticks out more than white. Especially in a game where the light from the Heavens always shines down on you.
Second, it follows the players dead body. This can be a problem because of physics. A body normally won’t stay in the same place upon death. It’ll be tossed around by grenades or explosions, which will decrease its effectiveness. Saying “On my X!” won’t work as well if the body is in a different place.

-EDIT-
Another thing, the X dissapears too fast to be effective unless already looking at the player’s position. I think the past Halo’s system of Xs dissapearing on respawn works better for its purpose. For Halo 4, perhaps it should even be an increased timer due to instant respawn.
This is important for competitive Halo, and I think some improvements would make it work great.
