I got into Halo in March 2002. I got the original Xbox along with Halo CE and few other games as a Easter gift. I played the first Halo game a lot during that time enjoying the replaying the levels and playing split screen with friends.
I honestly canāt remember how I got into the series my memory is hot garbage in the first place and it doesnāt help that it was so long ago but I think I got the PC port of halo ce randomly one day and just instantly fell in love with the game and have been playing ever since
The GameStop employee threw in Halo 2 so that I had something to play with my Xbox 360 that I bought with my birthday money, he then said to come back in a few months because the next Halo is coming out (Halo 3), so I went home, played Halo 2 and immediately clicked with it. FF months later and I went back to get Halo 3, and the rest is history.
I got into Halo 6 years ago when my parents bought me an Xbox 360 elite and a lot of games. One of those games was Halo 3, at the time I found Halo boring (reclaimer era marketing stuff) but Halo 3 showed me a new side of Halo I never saw before. Iāve been a Halo fan since, not too long before the announcement of Infinite.
I got invited to a friends house, and he introduced me to Halo, i loved it, and ive been a fan since, but I only picked up a Xbox One S last year, and got MCC with Game Pass.
My brother brought his original Xbox over and gave me Halo 2. Good times.
I still remember seeing the Xbox case for Halo CE at Target. Didnāt think much of it and then I started to pay more attention to videogames.
My friend sold me his Halo Edition Xbox around 2006 (I was very late to the party, needless to say) and I asked for Xbox Live for my birthday that year. Back then, you got the headset and a year of Live for $60.
Played Halo 2 online and the rest is history.
Iām not 100% sure where I first heard about it but it most likely was when I went over to my cousins house at one point and we started playing it. We didnāt go over a crazy amount so I was only able to play it in spurts, but I first started with Halo 2 when I was maybe 8 or 9. I played Halo CE over there as well but both I was never able to beat fully until my cousin moved to where I live now when I got a little older. When my cousin moved Halo 3 pretty much just came out and Iād go over and play that pretty much every weekend just replaying the campaign or just messing around in forge and custom games it was so fun! A few years later I finally got my own 360 right when the slim came out (I actually was the first one to get one at Walmart completely just by chance/luck) then I was able to play them whenever I wanted. It took another year or two before I got XBL and that was when Reach came out.
a friend had it, my parents didnāt want my brother or me playing it. Eventually I went ahead and did. Then later told my parents and they relented on their stance. My brother and I then got our own Xbox and I got my own copies.
Played it at one of my mothers church friends house when I was like 11 years old or something. Was a PlayStation baby up until that point.
2001, played campaign at a friendās house over the holidays, got hooked and immediately went out and bought it. Been playing ever since.
As a kid, I was always at a friendās place. He had an Xbox and Halo: Combat Evolved, so I first played that at his place when I was 7 or 8. I had a PS2 when I was like, 6, until 2010 when the Xbox 360 Slim Line was coming out. I played Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, at his place with him. I remember him getting Halo 3: ODST and coming around my place to sleep over one time and he brought his Xbox 360, and we played it. I played the Halo: Reach beta at his place since he got Xbox Live. I pre-ordered myself the Xbox 360 Slim Line in 2010 when it came out, and pre-ordered Halo: Reach. I got Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST to play until Reach came out. Once Reach came out, I played the campaign on my own after school for the next couple of days, and played MP online at my friendās place. Wasnāt until 2012 a couple of months before Halo 4 released that I got Xbox Live myself.
TLDR; my friend had it and I played it at his place all the time.
My friends, back in the day, all seemed to already have the original Xbox console. Of course they were all better at Halo than me, but then I got the console too and practiced. Now I am proud of how well I can hold my own!
Great question, Spiego!
My brother saw a demo of Halo CE being played in EB Games at our local mall right before, or the week of, the original Xbox release. I think I went over and watched someone driving the Warthog on the second campaign level (Halo). We were both immediately sold, and couldnāt believe how great the graphics looked (lol, looking back now).
We went to Circuit City (RIP) and bought the Xbox to play Halo that same week I believe.
A year or two later we had a second Xbox, and were hosting Halo LAN parties at our house⦠sometimes a full 16 people. We even had a hole drilled between mine and my brotherās closets, to run a LAN cable through to play during the week. Then had a hub to run to others that brought their Xboxās.
We even competed in a local Halo tournament in 2004 or 2005, though we didnāt do that great.
I first got into Halo when I was very young back in the early 2000ās. Been playing since I was around 5, really got into it around the time of Reach and have been a long time fan ever since. my one regret is that i was never able to do Halo 2 classic mp because by the time I got ahold of a 2nd hand copy for my 360, the xbl service shut down. that being said, I look forward to infinite going back to a lot of bungieās key themes and designs that made Halo stand out.
With my dad.
When I was a kid (23 alredy, wow), my dad bought the first Xbox and with the Blockbuster, he rent a few games that we could play on those days after he came from work. Later than never, he rented Halo Combat Evolved. Even if didnāt play the custome games with him, the travel over the missions were just perfect, and talk about it too many times. Sadly when Halo 2 came out, he werenāt able to play just 'cause his vision (the camera move too fast for him). But the travel through the Halo series continue with my younger brother. Heās my favorite mate to play any Halo game.
i got into it because halo reach was the only good game on my xbox 360 besides minecraft
I started because I saw the live action trailers this was after 5 and saw the RVB music videos. I sadly got halo 5 and played it could not and still canāt get past the 2 warden fights where you fight two of them. Then forget about halo then started watching Halofollower Hidden and LTN before fortnite. And finally got MCC and now play halo yay. Also did get and beat og Reach but deleted it because severs getting shut down. Also got back into halo because of Mega Blocks halo sets was more of a lego guy but now not really just halo.
My brother, 2009. Introduced me to Halo 3 when I turned 5 and fell in love with the series. He brung out the Original Xbox and we began playing Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2. Man it was a blast. We played the hell out of Reach when it came out, same with Halo 4 and 5. Although we didnt enjoy 5 that much. He moved out but hes coming over and weāre going to play the hell out of Halo: Infinite next.
My best friend at the time had an Xbox and Halo CE (basically at launch) and he showed it to me when I used to go to his house and play it. First thing I ever did on Halo was play the mission The Silent Cartographer.
