How did you get into Halo?

Well, i started with Halo technicly in 2019 with the MCC Release on PC. but i played a few Matches of Halo 2 one time while i had a sleepover with a Friend of mine. he had an OG XBOX and a Steelbook Copy of Halo 2.

Thanks to a friend. He streamed Halo to test his new PC and I helped him to see everything was working properly

I played Halo CE at a kiosk in EB games back in the day.
Never was really interested in anything outside of horror, JRPG’s or fighting games. Then I started playing H2 online at a friend’s house. It was my first foray into online gaming. Been hooked ever since.
Bought myself an XBOX and CE.

First time I played Halo was on an original Xbox kiosk. It was the campaign demo and I was hooked. I couldn’t get enough of it and was eager to play splitscreen with friends.

I was over at a friends house and saw them playing Halo 3. I thought it looked interesting so I started playing too. I had no idea what I was doing since I hadn’t played games for years up until then but it was a lot of fun and I stuck with it.

The good ol Halo CE demo. Blood Gulch and the Silent Cartographer will forever be remembered.

In 2002, I played the original Halo on my cousins’ Xbox. I fell in love with the game’s story, and remember getting lost in the missions (literally—I had no idea where to go half the time  ) After a lot of begging, I finally convinced my mom to get me an Xbox of my own for Christmas, and joined Halo 2 ever-so-slightly late in December of 2004. I’ve been hooked on the games since then, and am a ride-or-die Halo fan until the end (no matter how bumpy the ride gets)!

Saw the pictures in PC magazine of CE and was waiting for it for pc , then they shifted it to xbox .

Never managed to play any of the franchise and i hope i will get to play HI.

Even tho i never played any game i brought books/figures and other merchandise because i really like Halo lore and Armor Vehicle design.

I remember I was a kid and Halo had just come out within the past year. It was already blowing up and other kids at school we’re talking about how awesome it was but I didn’t really know much about it.

So one day my older sister was going to Barnes and Noble to grab a book and I went along for the ride. I saw The Fall of Reach on a shelf and remember thinking ā€˜might as well see what this Halo thing is all about’. I picked it up and finished it in two days. The book blew me away.

After that I wanted an Xbox to play through Halo but I already had a PS2 and my parents weren’t too keen on buying me another console. Fortunately, this was at the time when video rental stores were still big and the one in my town let you rent out consoles. So I rented an Xbox and halo and was hooked.

I think reading the Fall of Reach first without any prior knowledge of the game was what really made it hit so hard for me. When I first started up the game I instantly felt immersed because I knew these characters from the novel, so I was all in from the get-go. But, more importantly, after reading about the human-covenant war in the book, I thought I knew what it was going to be. Then the flood showed up and it was just this huge jaw dropping moment that completely shattered my expectations.

Halo CE local multiplayer was a bit of a big deal in my high school. I started out playing local MP with my friend group and then we would branch out to battle other groups in 4v4.

The next evolution was playing the first iteration of Halo CE MP over Xbox Connect (before Xbox Live). The XB Connect days were WILD!!!

This led to getting my first Xbox, getting Halo 2 and my own XBL account. Been playing Halo off and on ever since.

Through friends and reading the books.

I don’t remember what year it was, but i remember one day my father got the whole family an Xbox 360 for Christmas (this was the first game console I ever played on). We had the basic puzzle games like Hexic and some Kinect games, but a few months (maybe a year) went by and my dad told me to come try this game that he downloaded from Xbox Live Golds free games for that month, he said it might be something I would be interested in.

That game turned out to be Halo 3, I played some of the campaigns missions (but never finished it) and remembering having a lot of fun but I was confused about the story due to having no knowledge of the previous two games. I eventually was able to get my hands on Halo CE and Halo 2, and once I played those I went back to Halo 3’s campaign. With more knowledge of the Halo story this time, Halo 3’s campaign made a lot more sense (and I went through the whole campaign this time).

Since then I’ve been a huge Halo fan! I’ve played and own all the games (as well as a few of the books), and I’m excited to continue the Halo journey with Infinite’s Campaign and Multiplayer!

Friends in school told me about it - I never heard about it before then.

They peaked my imagination from how they described it. I begged my parents to buy me a copy. They did not have CE in stock, so I started with Halo 2.

My older sister plopped the controller into my hand and said ā€œhere give it a shot!ā€ I was quite young at the time so I didn’t play very well but she was patient and we had a blast. I’m hoping that I can repay this in a way soon by getting her a Xbox and Halo Infinite so we can play together again.

It all started with a used copy of Halo 4 on a hand-me-down Xbox 360 S, which fueled the experience that engrained Halo into my life.

Had a friend back in middle school who was a fan and initially got me into it. My younger brother had a few Halo games at the house so I just borrowed them and they practically became mine from that moment forward aha. Been playing ever since

For me it was a matter of browsing Youtube for funny vids for Jak 2. However, I came across this thing for Red vs Blue and I got hooked into that. For months I spent watching RvB, wondering what game was being used to create it. In 2008 I was introduced to Halo 3 by my step brother and that’s how I got addicted to Halo.

Had a bunch of friends that were diehard Halo 2 fans. I got sucked in on Halo 3. And been playing and living the dream ever since.

My brothers and I got an original Xbox and we played Halo CE and Halo 2.

Got Halo CE as a bundle with Midtown Madness 3 with the original Xbox.

Played it before at my friend’s house and had to have it.
