Personally my experience was pretty good. I wish that the new capstone to this last weekend when it opened was completeable in bot arena as well as social but not a huge deal. I played on XSX on quality mode. I thought performance would lower textures but found out last day that it didn’t so I switched to performance mode. I also tired pc but the stuttering made it unplayable for me. All in all was a very good experience and can’t wait for it to reopen Thursday night. How was your experience if you were able to play?

I went back and played some Halo Reach afterwards and didn’t have nearly as much fun.

Overall I really enjoyed the game. I had a few UI but gameplay was solid.

The power weapons really dominate on objective games. Especially the SPNKR rocket launcher on Bazaar CTF. Gravity Hammer feels much better but it a real tide turner on Recharge.

Strongholds feels pretty manageable with PUGs but CTF is a roll of the dice still. I don’t see how 343 will teach players how to play CTF effectively if this ever comes up in Academy.

Behemoth is a great map but I wasn’t entirely sold on the vehicles yet.

BAD . Controller aim assist is still to much and it was showing way more in PVP than in bots match .

Slide ignition is really bad and slugish and useless and have weird input delay either by design or whatever no matter what Slide are useless and bad .

AR was way to weak , Plasma Burst riffle is a terribly bad weapons the projectile speed is a joke and make it worst than any other weapons at any given time

Most power weapons beside the rocket feel weak and imbalanced .

Sniper does not feel good

The overall movement feel cheap

Grenade are still way to strong and seams to have a Guided head that track players for some reason .

Trade kills happen way to Often and i suspect really bad netcode , reminds me of Destiny 2 … I could get kill by a melee after the same guy i just killed who actually died from a gunshot 1 sec before he somewhat killed me after he died with a melee lol

Hit reg is weird and inconsistant

Scope cancel on hit is ridiculous and only anoying there is no reason to scope at anypoint anymore , just Hip fire all the way

Only had a few issues. The Input delay for Mouse n’ keyboard and controller were awful which is probably due to the fact that it doesn’t support full screen capabilities which I don’t understand. Also it being Borderless windowed and not full screen means your computer doesn’t put all of its recourses into the game. But other than that and some technical stuff, game felt really good but if it doesn’t have full screen support to it at launch then I’m just not going to play it.

it went well! I played on my pc with a controller and found the aiming was a bit buggy, however the large amount of aiming allowed me to aim good. i played on the highest quality on everything i could and it was magnificent. i had issue with being blown up by grenades alot, however the only big bug i found was the melee glitch, and i just got so mad because of it. Overall though, i am extremely excited for the flight this weekend!

The game really does look amazing. Grenades are definitely used a LOT. Also thankfully the melee glitch has been confirmed that it will be fixed at launch.

Thats very interesting! i was playing on pc and found i was able to play with full screen. That being said i did encounter issues with aiming input as well. But i played with the highest setting possible and found my game didn’t crash or bug to the extent i was expecting, which is awesome. Hopefully they sort out the issue where you could only play on a windowed screen, because i also would not play it like that.

I should also add that should we see another flight before launch. While not confirmed the glitch would most likely be fixed in that case as well.

That makes me very happy, and maybe a nerf to the grenade throwing distance would nice LOL

I have to agree, the sliding i dint use, mainly because it took more time to register sprint to slide than to just turn around and accept your fate (death)

Grenades i noticed they were very accurate, and also notice in one particular match that the frag grenade had stuck into someones head (a glitch i assume)

THE SCOPE CANCELLING. It made it impossible to use the sniper or any ranged weapon, and eseentially forced me to use the sidekick, or assault rifle where the scope cancelling doesnt happen

Overall, in my opinion i had a fun time, but yeah there were alot of small things that need balancing and adjusting, particularly the aim input for PC while using a controller.

Yeaaah, i was playing the campaign just now in preparation, and i just missed the feel of infinite

I found my experience with the vehicles was pretty fun, however on behemoth in particular the ghost was truly its own power weapon.

the rocket launcher was seriously a scary weapon to encounter in the enemies hands. i could never dodge a rocket once. Same with the Gravity Hammer, it was lethal, and a very good balance to the map if used properly.

CTF on stronghold would be very interesting. i found whenever getting the over shield, i never really felt it gave much benefit while having it on, aside from when i was about to die and found a little bit of cover to activate it, and still run away with an inch of my life, as the shield felt like it depleted super fast.

This your first halo game? lmao

I’d say grenade throw distance is fine but grenades could definitely use a rebalancing. I can’t nail exactly what makes them so powerful but I don’t think it’s throw distance. Maybe lower blast radius or put a cooldown between throws to prevent spamming them.

So the game is running “Borderless full screen” which looks like full screen but you don’t get the full performance on borderless full screen. The reason I know that its borderless is because I don’t need to tab out to move my mouse cursor.

Compared to the first preview this one went a lot better for me. They fixed the screen shake settings and turning it off really made the game feel better just off the bat. But other improvements like the “feel” of the right stick were also improved but still needs a bit of work, apparently that’s just an online issue though, as local training mode matches felt fine and others reported similar issues with inconsistent aim controls during PvP and matchmade bot matches. Hopefully that gets fixed, aim controls should always be handled locally, not by the server.

But yeah, aside from that and the AR needing a nerf this game is shaping up good!

Pretty good, only a few things were problematic for me, such as the aiming and the melee hit registration, other than that, it was pretty good, a little bit sweaty due to some tryhards, but big team battle should feel more casual and fun.
