Does anybody know why Sarah Palmer earned and deserves her rank?
She beat up all the eggheads and freaks with her Halo 1 dual wielding skills.
Thats a good question, considering the fact that she acts like an angry, uneducated 12 year old.
She was second to Lasky who was second to Del Rio. When Del Rio got discharged and Lasky was promoted to captain, she was promoted to Commander.

She treats War like a game, and had the ability to make others do and think so as well. Which is what ONI and a part of the UNSC wanted.
Soldiers would be more excited and enthusiastic about going into battle on Requiem.
She may act like a twelve year old but we don’t know her past she might have been a great spartan before and something happened.

That awkward moment when there was no duel wielding in halo 1.
OT: she -Yoinked!- her way to the top.
Same reason why Del Rio, though not necessarily incompetent, was a captain despite his overly cautious procedures (there were instances in WWII where this was not the way to go) and obviously poor prioritization.
UNSC turned a bunch of marines into Spartans for Christ’s sake.
UNSC don’t know what they’re doing.

Do Spartans actually have ranks other than the Chief and the Commander? How do they know who’s in charge in the field? Do they out rank normal Marines or does a Marine Sargent out rank them? I would like to know.

Failed her way to the top, happens all the time.
She managed to get to the top because here kick is something to fear, refer to episode 2(CGI)to see what i mean lol.With her OHK kick of doom there was no man willing to say no.
The same way everyone else did OP… this Palmer hate stuff’s getting old. If Johnson or Buck were doing this, which they did to some extent, nobody would be saying anything.
