How did People find the Library the Hardest Mission?

I’m not at all saying that everyone is bad at the game I’m just asking why did you find the hardest? When I tried it for the first time on legendary I found it simple, yes I got lost and it did get very repetitive but I didn’t find it amazingly hard like many people say it is. I do know people have different opinions but we’re talking about over half of the Halo community find it hard so I just want to know why you found it so hard.

What gave me fits was how fast the Flood moved. For the most part you were in a confined space and the Flood just seemed to come from everywhere. Untill that point no enemy moved like that. Took me a few trys before I found what worked for me. Ill admit I said a truck full of colorful medifores during that level lol.

For me it was just them appearing out of nowhere and storming you. It was unpredictable and you could not plan a strategy to counteract it beforhand.

Hugging the walls on a dark and extremely repetitive map with a nearly endless wave of flood forms charging straight at you as you rely almost exclusively on your shotgun hoping your flashlight doesn’t run out on legendary difficulty… I apologize but there is no way that you could’ve finished this mission without finding it difficult. The Librairy is one of the most challenging missions ever created in Halo history. Fact; not opinion.

I always waited in the few safe spots there were for my flashlight to recharge lol. I was sooooo happy when i found a rocket launcher lol.

When ever you run out of shotgun ammo or rockets and you kill the exploder infection forms they would blow any nearby gun out of the map I hated it especially when it was a shotgun or rocket launcher

Rocket Flood, seriously thats the ONLY reason I dislike that level…those guys are just mean.

For sure, they’re deadly accurate most of the time. They would always get me from the end of the halls.

It wasn’t so much “hard” as it was “Ahh!”. The flood would just come out of nowhere. The level seemed so long cause you would go slow so things wouldn’t creep up on you, but they still did

The first few times I did that level was fun for me. I’m right there with Goldfinger or whatever up top that some things got said from that level more then anything. I was upset, tired, and irritated that I could not make it through in one piece because of the stop, defend X position, and wait for the timer to wind down to open the doors.

Finally it just came down to two things: shotgun/pistol are Godsends on that level and… 2 rocket combat forms are more deadly then a 1,000 jackals with beam rifles nods head… that and the combat forms were not that accurate over distance. Hence the pistol and the slow/steady trot through that mission, double checking all corners and ducts for any enemy, when they did show? Move back, move back, move back using pistol or AR was actually useful for when they all got close. Spraying bullets hit multiple forms and generally allowed me to drop two-three combat forms per clip on Legendary.

I actually challenged myself once and never used the shotgun or Rocket launcher once during a Legendary play through of that level and completed it without dying. It was only when you had to defend objectives that the flood became a royal pain as it was timer based… not overall enemy count based, though that could be potentially worse if people are not proficient with the weapons given/available to them and close CQC areas, not much maneuverability generally lead to dying, but when you play that level enough, you get a good feeling of what works and what will never work. Honestly, it was a fun level, can’t wait to beat it for an achievement in CEA…

Honestly the only thing difficult I remember about the library was getting lost.

Keyes and Two Betrayals were significantly harder due to spec ops elites and wide open spaces.

It was easy to get lost and the Flood came from no-where and mob-rushed you.

I don’t find the Library to be all that difficult. Only the part where it seals you in them in that tiny room is where it gets tough. As long as you have a full shotgun and magnum then you shouldn’t have much to worry about.

I think people find that level hard because they use the wrong weapons. From what I’ve read on many forums including here is that people rely too much on the shotgun. And to be honest, the shotgun is the worst possible weapon for dealing with large hordes of flood. It’s a good weapon to take out a small group of three of four combat forms, but any more and you get swamped.

The huge advantage you have in that mission is that the Flood often approach from way ahead of you. And in the cases they don’t but literally drop down on you, you can run back from where you came. Range is your friend when fighting the Flood, and with the magnum and/or plasma pistol you can take them out from quite far away.

The Library was hard because the Flood are hard. They run up to you and swing their arms and fire recklessly. Rocket Flood are the worst because all Flood are willing to die while killing you, so they don’t hesitate to run up and shoot where they can’t miss. Generally that’s how it is. Unlike the Covenant, you are not given a reprieve as long as they are near.

I don’t see how people got lost, though. I was pretty young when I first did it and I never got lost. It’s a linear map with just a couple pockets to explore. It’s not a maze.

I don’t find it the hardest level in the game, but it’s difficulty is practically unrelenting with your only breaks being those rather brief elevator rides. Otherwise you’re running and gunning for your life, and you’ll be begging for a checkpoint all the time.

But in comparison to the harder parts of the later levels, The Library isn’t too bad.

Reasons:
Halo: CE on the xbox had no XBL multiplayer (less time playing halo on a daily basis)
For most people it was their first FPS, or close to their first.
We were younger, a LOT younger
We played on legendary
Solo…
The flood had rocket launchers
They just kept coming!
They were scary.
We didn’t have years of multiplayer under our belt yet.
They jumped like the hulk (flys) jumps

That level is the most difficult level in Halo: Ce.

You have to duck, jump, toss grenades, and move around to keep the flood away from you. It gets pretty annoying.

Combat Forms with RAWKIT LAWNCHAIRS.

Almost as bad as Ranged Forms in H3.

Almost.

This is how you beat the Library: you book it.
