How did Elites turn to this?

Anyone feel the armour design is reminiscent of Brute armour to some elites?

YEP, definite.

Try looking at him from a different angle.

That’s only the case for certain vehicles and weapons. I’m way past that now.

> Anyone feel the armour design is reminiscent of Brute armour to some elites?

I think it’s their stance and movement speed.

I love how you post a picture of a low res Halo 2 Elite and then say the latest model looks worse  Good going.

I’m guessing updated graphics, more pixels per inch, better colour, improved graphics engine?

343 definitely took a lot of artistic license with the Covenant.

In the sense that they are actually good graphically, yes. From a design standpoint, not at all.

First pic < Second pic

It are mini Godzillas.

Halo 4 Elites likes to show more skin.

Agreed, and seeing the posture of Elites squashed down in Halo 3 ruined them further. I like the way 343 is going with the Elites in Halo 4. They look big and imposing, but also violent and unpredictable. It’s pretty clear that these aren’t the noble elites of Halo 1, 2, or Reach (evident in their posture, armor, and general paler and rougher appearance) but they still look very much like Elites.

if they have been stuck in Requiem for any length of time, evolution could be a factor, since shield worlds are housed inside a slipspace bubble, also if the have contact with Forerunner tech or the didact, they could be changed on a biological level.

Atleast my theory anyways.

That and things like the Reach Banshee model being used are sort of explained by the Thursday War. I won’t go into detail (to prevent spoilers) but this faction of Covies was isolated on an outer planet with little outside contact before they went to Requiem. When contacted by an Elite in the Thursday War, these Covenant weren’t even aware the war had ended.

There was a covie ship right behind the FUD wasnt there?

Was the FUD already breaking up as it went through the portal or did the portal cut the ship.

The portal leading off of the Ark cut Arby’s end of the Forward Unto Dawn off as the portal closed, ending up at Earth, but Chief’s end was redirected, somehow sent to Requiem (it’s possible that this is a failsafe in Forerunner slipspace travel, or that Mendicant Bias, who was present on the Ark because of a fragment of himself stored in Truth’s dreadnought, may have redirected Chief’s end of the ship on purpose for some unknown reason).

AHHHHH!!! so excited!! Only a month and two days left!!

This is a dumb thread.

None of the elites or ANY Characters For that Matter were ever the same from any halo game to the next!

They always change, and its not bad.

It’s obviously NOT Reach models. Sorry, but you pulled that out of your -Yoink!-

Of course the change in species was never as drastic as it is in Halo 4.

Honestly, I think it all looks great, and I have been quite critical of the art styles. Only one I think looks bad is the Jackal ranger. His head looks too much like a large door stop, just a bit silly when compared to the viciousness seen in the other Jackal classes.
