How did Dr. Halsey react to her daughters death?

Was it ever mentioned in the lore how Dr. Halsey reacted to Mirandas death?

This has been discussed before.
Tldr: She was sobbing and whispering her name at times while being held prisoner on Infinity.

OP you should check out the Kilo-Five trilogy. I know it’s a bit of a controversial trilogy among the community, but there are a few good moments. One of which was Halsey reacting to Miranda’s death, as posted in the quoted text above.

It’s a shame it’s become a controversial topic. I really enjoyed that trilogy. It was humanizing in a lot of ways for characters that were difficult to relate to in some ways. Maybe I’ll go through that series again soon.

Why is it controversial? I thought the trilogy was a well put together collection of Halo cannon. Plus it gave us insight on another group besides Blue team or Osiris. Can anyone answer this for me?

That trilogy is my personal favourite in Halo, but my friend had two main issues with it:

  • He thought Osman was poorly written and inconsistent. He thinks she acts oddly at times and occasionally ex-posits when the author can’t be bothered to think of a way for the characters to learn information organically. I definitely see what he means about the exposition. - Apparently the trilogy is a bit drawn out and would have worked better as two books. I disagree with this but he hasn’t really expanded, I’ll speak to him and if he can offer any insight, I’ll put it in as an edit to this post.

Good point. I’m in agreement, I loved the trilogy, but discussing it seems to really bring out the fire in people who love/hate Halsey as a character. Controversy probably isn’t the correct word for it. More flashpoint than controversy, in my opinion.

Elites were supposed to be strong warriors and in kilo 5 they were depicted as weak aliens dependent on technology to do anything.Halsey and mendez are depicted different compared to the nylund trilogy.Halsey is compared to stalin and -Yoink!- I believe, which as a jew is very insulting imo

I actually quite enjoyed it too. But here are a few issues I had and some issues others have brought up:

  • Halsey was depicted as space--Yoink!- and took all the blame for the Spartan program despite being one of many involved. For some reason Osman loves Parangosky even though there’s no way Parangosky didn’t know about such a huge project happening in the organization that she is in charge of. - Jul 'Mdama was a bit of a flat character with little depth or intelligence demonstrated. He had one goal and one goal only: kill all humans. It’s a bit played out and made his eventual command of the Covenant remnant a bit shallow. - Avu Med 'Telcam being willing to work with humans at all, even in an attempt to undermine them, goes against his strong religious convictions and against the Sangheili doctrine of facing your enemies head on in combat. He repeatedly spoke ill of humans and their dirty tricks while simultaneously trying to execute a dirty trick of his own - Naomi is depicted at times as a lost little girl instead of a towering demigod like she should be - The Kig Yar perspective was an interesting addition to the lore in terms of expanding our knowledge of their culture, but it took way too much time away from the other main charactersThere’s probably a few more, but these are what come to mind when I think of past discussions I’ve had on the trilogy

The biggest issue I’ve read up on from the community was the third book in the trilogy… it is full of Halsey hate. I enjoyed reading through the books personally, but HATED how ONI immediately betrayed their Sangheili allies (though it is a realistic outlook on how humanity would act towards an old enemy).
