Wasn’t that thing he carried a nuke itself?
Space magic.
box o’ hardlight
Cortana used Hardlight while in the Didact’s Ship’s systems. That’s how she was able to touch him, she was made of HardLight.
simple.
F.M. (-Yoinking!- magic)
> Cortana used Hardlight while in the Didact’s Ship’s systems. That’s how she was able to touch him, she was made of HardLight.
I know that. But the nuke was right in FRONT of him.

Hardlight is pretty much invincible. The Hardlight Shield in Halo 4 can take Tank shot, Spartan Laser shots, Incineration Cannon shot, ect…
deus ex machina
He was warped out of the ship and had a bubble of hardlight around him.
Cortana wrapped Chief in a hardlight barrier. It’s hard to believe since he survived because Chief was VERY close to the nuke. I would understand if it detonated with him being away from the bomb so there would be enough time to erect a barrier around him.
However, this Deus Ex Machina isn’t has horrible as the one introduced in the last part of Mass Effect 3. Despite my issue with the nuke/hardlight barrier, at least the ending was conclusive and down to Earth. Instead of, you know, trying to surpass This ending

More like right in front of his eyes…& what the hell did I just watch? lol

For a lack of a better word…art. xD
He used a portal gun.
Smart AI’s (like BB and Cortana) can process a million actions/outcomes etc in the time it takes a human mind to make one action. So Cortana had relatively plenty of time to react and get Chief to a safe place.
I also think there might be more to it than hardlight. Perhaps the Domain or the original intent of the Composer was figured out and used by Cortana…
Space magic.
Logically speaking, the box of hardlight encompassing him was of fair size. The nuke was in his HANDS. The hardlight should have encompassed him and the nuke.
The deus ex ploy wouldn’t have been that bad if he were away from it, but like I said, In his hands. Come on.
A boosting Ghost is more powerful than a nuke.
To make sense of it all: We can assume that, for 1 millisecond, the nuke’s power was blasting into Chief’s shields, which also knocked him backwards. Taking advantage of this, Cortan formed a box of hardlight around him…
Or, you could, y’know, just understand that 343 has put a billion trillion ton of plotholes into what looked like an amazing story for Halo 4.
I loved the Halo 4 story. It’s just that, that one part bothers me a bit
And what are those plot holes so I may shoot them down?
She probably teleported him Away then hard light shielded.

Teleported him away? Nuke was in his hands.
