How could they ruin it?

The only way 343i could ruin this game for me now, is to have it end on a cliffhanger like Halo 2. That opening cutscene was truly outstanding and sets the tone for what I hope will be a fantastic and epic story. BUT!!! If they end the game with a TO BE CONTINUED… I will throw my controller at my TV, I did it at the end of Halo 2 (luckily TVs back then were made of curved glass so my controller only bounced off). Any way I’m not dissing this game, I’m in full in hype mode and October 27 can’t come soon enough.

The only thing this game is going to ruin is …

… my underwear

…sorry, I thought I was better than that. lol

I totally agree with you, OP. Halo 2’s ending was incredibly dissatisfying, especially for how long the game was. I would be okay with some sort of cliffhanger in the epilogue as a lead-in to the next game, as long as the ending actually has a satisfying conclusion to the events presented in the game, unlike Halo 2.

They already have ruined it. 343i, like many developers, are killing the social aspect of gaming. I really don’t want to have to drag a TV, console, hook-ups, controller, and games to friend’s houses just to avoid having to be labeled as anti-social by everyone around me. “Why aren’t you hanging out with your friends? Are you OK?” Yes. I’m perfectly fine. I just don’t want to drag hundreds of dollars worth of stuff from place-to-place just to play, say, Halo with people other than randoms online.

It really seems like it’s going to end on a dark note or cliffhanger.

No one had a problem back during the combat evolved days doing it, and that game still spawn a large social community even without xbox live.

More people want 60 fps. Not enough people play split screen these days. End of an era.

Halo: Combat Evolved had split-screen.

And people still lugged their xboxes & TV’s around.

Yeah, four player splitscreen. People lugged their TVs and consoles to friends houses to play 4v4 and 8v8.

Sorry but Halo is Microsoft’s killer franchise. There will surely be other Halos, so yes, the end of the story won’t be 100% conclusive.

Sparten Locke is about to kill a helpless chief with a shotgun…
to be continued…

hundreds of of tvs and controllers were ruined that day

they better end with a complete story being told but you better expect a 2 parter. Hopefully no H2 troll endings to ruin people’s flatscreens faster than the wii did when it came out.

True story:

H2’s campaign put me off every other Halo campaign until late in Reach’s time. It upset me that much.

Clickbait title much?

I like cliff hangers personally, it lets you know that they’ve had plans for a sequel right from the start. The only thing that could ruin Halo 5 for me, is multiplayer issues as bad as MCC, other than that, not much else would ruin it.

Everyone still carried their big *** TV’s and consoles for LAN’s anyway. Are you really that weak minded that you can’t carry a few extra kilos to play at a friends house.

Yeah, in hindsight I’ve forgotten how horrible that was. Three years … not cool.
